I used to have a jx75! I picked it up at a yard sale for $150 and It was like brand new. Left it out one night and someone stole it. Hands down the best mower I ever had.

oh man that sucks! The Kawasaki engine with full pressure lubrication is great. Love how it has a blade brake clutch so you can run it without the blades on. Great mower! That is why I have 2! One is the newer style with the larger commercial Kawasaki in it.

I had the older style, 1 pull and that thing would always start. Maybe it was the weight but that mower made an awesome cut. You have a nice setup.

Picked up a 2008 John Deere Z520A with the 7 Iron 60" deck for $500 from a kid who had seized the motor.IMG_20200531_151411.jpg
Started looking around for a replacement motor and was told by multiple dealers that the complete motor is no longer available and all they could get was a short block for $750, which I would have to swap my existing head onto.

I talked to a local guy who does small engine repair and he gave me the names of a couple companies that sell replacement engines. Sure enough, one of them, Small Engine Warehouse was able to cross reference the number and had a complete motor in stock for $869 that is the same 25 HP Kohler motor with the only difference being the new motor has the larger, commercial style air cleaner.

I removed the old motor and while I was getting ready to install the new one, I noticed a few parts that needed replacement so I got those from a local dealer. One was the pulley on the drive belt tensioner. Bearings were shot.IMG_20200704_110034.jpg

The other part was the bell crank on the left side. Cast aluminum was broken halfway through.

While I was at it, I also changed the oil and filters in the hydro transmissions. I figure it's cheap insurance since I'm putting a new motor on the machine.

I'll post more pics when I finish installing the new motor. This should cut my mowing time considerably. I have about 2.5 acres of lawn to mow and mowing with my tractor with 42" deck takes forever.

How do you like it? I've been eyeballing one for a while as I want to go the electric route. How long does a charge last?

I have a very small yard and the 40v Ryobi is perfect. Zero maintenance (ok maybe annual blade sharpening). The large capacity battery will power the mower, string trimmer, and have about 1/2 to 1/4 charge remaining on top of that

Looking for a rider for my property. Mow about an acre of it. Had a used Cub LT1040 that ran ok but has a ton of hours on it and is jerry rigged together from the PO, i just got it super cheap. The stamped deck finally rusted completely through and one of the spindles is shot, not worth dumping money into. Looking at a replacement and was considering some older JD's with the cast iron Kohlers. Any suggestions? I was looking at a 314 and a 214. I mainly want something i can completely service myself and is very reliable.

Picked this up a little over a month ago. Cub cadet 42in zero turn

I like it. The 42 inch deck leaves a pretty good cut. Also does not bounce around like the 50 inch deck does. It’s a little twitchy on the right turns for some reason but I honestly think it’s the operator more than the mower lol

It lasts quite well. I have the 5ah battery and I can do my whole yard and usually have some left over for the trimmer. I have a ryobi trimmer 40v too.

I got a sweet deal on this Honda Mower right after Christmas. I guess they phased out that model. $300 off!!!

Scag V-Ride 60", which replaced the Land Pride 60" 3 Point mower behind it. The Scag mows so much faster, it's crazy.

Please excuse my mess in the garage right now, doing spring cleaning.....

I have about 1/3 of an acre that is fenced in for dogs around the house. It is a little hilly in one small area and is a little rough. The bad thing about it is our gate is narrow. Not wood, it is metal and brick so not easy at all to widen it.

It grows faster than any grass on earth as it has "natural fertilizer" from 3 dogs, haha. I could honestly mow it every couple days. Wife likes it bagged also since it is around the house. Takes forever with my little John Deere 21" mower. I still have my x758 for the rest of the yard outside of the fence.

I fixed that today. I had a really simple Scag SW36 belt driven walk behind about 8 years ago and loved that thing. Sold it a while ago. Been looking and researching walk behinds for about a month now. Come to find out, they also are like Tundras right now and can be very hard to find. I found a dealer here in Knoxville that actually had a Ferris SW25 and Scag SWZT walk behind in 36" in stock. I have heard a lot of good things about the Ferris models and for the money you get a lot. Compared to the Scag I get 18 instead of 14.5 Kawasaki, electric start, better hydro/transaxle. Scag is a Scag though. I rolled the dice and went with the Ferris. Mowed for first time tonight and it is a great machine!!! Took like 1/10 the amount of time to mow our fenced in area, haha.6B1AD11D-DDE4-4879-BB66-DFAF73396CDB.jpg34F9B734-78D8-45E6-B2CD-4B1BBBFB1481.jpg3566F406-3311-48AC-908B-88330EE2C851.jpg

I have used Lawnboys in two stroke for years and years.........can't kill 'em. But I'm 70 now and the boss (GF) asked me if I wanted a Zero Turn for our postage stamp sized yard on Cape Cod. Curiosity made me say "yeah", so she bought me a John Deere Z335 E. Now I mow twice a week, just to keep it manicured. I'm old and lazy. What can I say.

Picked up this low hour X500 with a 54" deck and cart a few weeks ago. My first "real deal" JD. Previously had a box store cub. What a difference. New fluids and a detail and it runs fantastic.
