It’s part of the sport package. To be honest the main reason I didn’t go with the off road package is because of the chrome and mismatched colors throughout the truck. The black fender flares look nice to me however but Toyota definitely missed the mark with all the chrome throughout.

Same! I have no use for a rear locker and seeing everyone and their grandma spend more money to delete all the chrome and accessories sealed the deal for me

 

Got it - ya those color matched fender flares look awesome. I’ve only seen a few of these trucks in person and they have been fairly basic SR5 models. Fun to be able to see these different variants and trims on here. Just can’t wait to see more in person as pictures only give you so much perspective.

Long-time lurker, new member here. I appreciate all the help this forum has provided me and wanted to show off the results. Picked up my hybrid Limited TRD off-road 4x4 about 2 weeks ago. This is actually my second 3rd gen Tundra. I got on the waitlist for a loaded up hybrid back in early December and bought a blacked out SR5 DC TSS while I wanted for my truck to come in.

I was originally holding out for a gray platinum because I didn't want the chrome everywhere. My sales guy called me on this truck and it was everything I wanted, but red instead of gray. I was a bit reluctant at first, but I absolutely LOVE this color! It looks like a deep red in the shade/overcast, but really pops out in the sun! I've had more compliments on my red truck in 2 weeks of ownership than I did in 4 months of having the all-blacked out truck. It came with digital gauges, pano sunroof, the full camera system. Absolutely love it!

With only 62 miles on the truck, I parked it and pulled it apart for a chrome delete. My wife's cousin is a painter for a large non-Toyota dealership in town. He did me a solid and painted all my chrome pieces for $200 (I had to pull the parts). I'm letting the paint cure for a while, then I'm going to add PPF to all the painted chrome parts. I did the black emblem overlays, black exhaust tip, and OEM gloss black window trim. Last piece is my gloss black tailgate handle, which should be here tomorrow. I'll take more pics once I get that last piece on.

 

Nice - congrats on the new truck. I was also very hesitant about the red when it was first offered by my dealership. But it was a platinum and had everything I wanted. So I went with it. Since taking delivery on 9/1 the color has really grown on me. I really like it now. Look forward to seeing more updates and pics of your truck!
