Congrats, I'm sure it'll pull nicely
My BIL pulls his with a 4Runner, but I think it's a 2005 or 2006 and has a V8 so he doesn't have an issue.

It's almost time to get the boat out!!

    Question...what's a good wakesurf board for 5'11 240lbs beginner?

    ...that a lean, svelte 240lbs!

I hear the Phase 5 stuff is good. I finally broke down and ordered a Custom Soulcraft - its really nice. I’ve always put the kids on the Ronix boards and they’ve done well.

It was 25 degrees this morning - that may seem mild in the great white north but that’s a hard pass on getting in the water. There are fishing boats out year-round. Water temps are usually sub 60 December - February. 51 is the coldest I got in (February) and I’ll never do it again.

I usually winterize my boat in November or December and put it back in the water late Feb or March.

August - October is the best time of year here IMO, cooler air temps and 80 degree water.

I bought a Liquid Force Primo on close out before Christmas. It seemed pretty well reviewed as a multipurpose/beginner board. I’m interested to see if my 2007 Centurion can push enough wake for me to surf without major ballast additions. I don’t want to mess with bags, etc.

I wish you the best of luck but in my experience boats made pre-2012ish need tons of weight since they weren’t really designed with surfing in mind. I’ve got 900 lbs stock ballast in my old Axis and its taken an additional 1600 lbs aftermarket ballast to make my wave okay - still not good but surfable. If you’re under 200 lbs you’ve got a way better chance.

That said, the C4 hull centurions are supposed to be some of the best old hulls for making a wave.

Josh and I polar bear plunged on New Years at the lake but I don’t count that - being in for minutes is way different than jumping in for a second.

Yeah, that's a little chilly for all day water sports. Wet suit temps for sure at best.

Yeah, I know it won’t be ideal. I bought the board bc it was cheap and to have for the kids to try. I’m 170 and could stand to lose a few lbs so I’m hoping there’s a chance. I only have 250 lb ballast and a manual trim plate on the stern, but it seems to make a big wake.

I would have bought a different boat if surfing was the goal.

Now that we have taken the boat out a few times, I think this X26 is incapable of passing a fueling dock

Getting the dock stepped up to handle the weight of the thing.

until the dock gets fixed , have to use mooring whips due to the bass boats passing

this bitch has already torn off a dock cleat

That motor was a blown big block Chevy bored out to 460ci. Right around 1,000hp.

New motor is an all aluminum 540 we’re converting to alcohol.

After several years looking for the right boat I finally have something to post here!

Picked up a beautiful, low hour, one owner and indoor rack stored 21 foot dual console a couple months ago. Ticked the boxes on needs for the family and fishing.

I run the Chesapeake bay, generally between Windmill point at the Rapp down to Mobjack, also up into the Rapp and Piankatank. So if you see a dual console sea hunt in the area it is probably me!
