i'm still kicking around what i want to do for my storage "shop" i really like the free span idea that you can get with metal. i like wood for ease of erection. i've been considering these guys: http://www.dandisystems.com/ they call them box beam barns same idea as steel but with wood. max width of 40 no limit on length. they are in Ky, not super close to you guys in Co though. when i was researching people that do the box beam style i thought i found a guy out west that did them also. 40x60 basic kit (all pre cut etc) was around 15k. everything you need to be dried in. they sit on a pier system also, no posts in the ground to rot. easy to insulate, easy to put up.

Colo.TJ,,,Two part epoxy paint, about 80 pounds of plastic flakes, and then an acrylic top coat. It is the greatest!! Nothing penetrates this stuff, gas, oil, trans fluid, hot tire marks, even acid they say. It stays cleaner for sure and if you spill something you wipe it up with a damp paper towel. I love it. We either sweep or blow it out once in a while and then wipe it down with a damp towel and the floor has a little shine to it all the time. I did our last place in a solid red color it turned out great and the buyers of our old house loved it but this time we had a company come in and do it.

I living in a cookie cutter neighborhood where everything is built to the minimums. I rolled it by hand until it kissed the wall and let it roll back about an inch. Not gonna work...

Thank God it's a rental. So ready to move.

Mine doesn't fit. Here's me attempting to when I was swapping my leaf bushings and it was 30 degrees outside... Wife's 4Runner and my R1200C live in the garage. One of the main requirements when we buy another house. Must have at least 3 stalls and deep enough to put my truck inside and still walk around it/work on it. But, we don't plan to move for a while.

I see where you were going now lol.
I thought you were saying 28’ depth was 18’ too short.
Not that any of us wouldn’t love a 46’ depth LOL.

I don't have anything worth showing off yet but I eventually hope to make my garage look like this. I'm very fortunate that whomever built my house did a really big 2 car garage. It seems like most new houses keep going smaller and smaller on the garage size. My parents bought a brand new house in Florida and they can only fit their Mercedes in there. Their other vehicle won't fit.
I'm one of those weird people that likes organization and hates clutter.

That's the type of items I want in my garage. I'd also want 6 car ports w at least 15 deep extra

If you want to park in there you're either going to need to get rid of/relocate a lot of that stuff or get as much as you can off the floor and onto the ceiling. It looks like you're already on the right path in that last picture where I can see some ceiling storage. I know pinterest is really girly but there is a ton of info on there about garage storage and organization. Have you considered hanging some of those bikes from the ceiling? You have so many it may not help but I wanted to mention it.

    You need more of this:

Not sure where to build shop.

Up front we would block traffic noise, and if it matched our house the curb appeal would still look good. (Right where camper is)

If you’re taking votes, I vote front where the camper is and match the house!
Then you don’t have to spend $20K on a driveway either lol

Good point on the driveway. Hard enough to get out of the front with snow, let alone the back yard.
