Mentioned earlier that I picked up a set on eBay pretty cheap and took them to a local shop. They did a killer job and they look awesome. Unfortunately, I only have two of them currently as on my way home from said shop, two of the wheels clinked together pretty hard and they each chipped. Needless to say, I wasn't very happy with what had happened and ended up back at the shop dropping off the two that chipped to have them recoated.

The tires get delivered tomorrow and I pick up the other two wheels Thursday. Hoping to get everything installed over the weekend or early next week.

80 bucks a pop, Tyger Drylac black. Looks great, and I love keeping the factory offset and look.

I'd love to see a pic of a stock TRD wheel 3rd gen wheel powder coated bronze or maybe gunmetal. Black wheels are cool but everyone has them now. bonus if mounted on a cement DC

I know someone on here did a gunmetal powdercoat on the stock TRD wheels, but I can't remember who....

Edit: Here's one, but I think at least one other person did theirs as well.

How does powder coating hold up? If you kiss a curb, does it easily scuff or chip?

I’m planning on doing the same thing and you convinced me. What size tires are you running? Spacers?

Holds up as good as any stock finish. If you nail a curb, anything will scratch. Normal use and mine still look new.

Thanks! I'm going to make some calls tomorrow. I'll be all over this if I can get it done for $80 each.

Nice, try and call some industrial places that may be able to slide them in with bigger jobs (if you're just doing a basic color). Also ask which powder they use.... go with a name brand (I used Tiger Drylac).

Will do. I believe you said Tiger Drylac matched the TRD Pro center cap well.

Thanks! I think TRD Pro wheels are little played out and this one looks fresh all powder coated. They are pretty cheap and found them locally for like $300 a set. I’m prolly gonna go with 295/60 or 305/55 with 5100 or 6112 up front.

$300 a set for TRD pros? I guess I need to be looking. I thought they'd be more

No limited wheels. Pro are like 800-1200 a set. Trd wheels can be had for like 400-500 as far as I found

Wow just came upon this thread. I really like the way the trd wheels look pc all black. Especially with those trd center caps. Never thought about powder coating them on my Tundra even though I had them done on my old Titan. Lol. I think bronze would look pretty hot.
