Ok what’s your go to pocket knife? I am looking to add a new one to the collection and leaning towards the Benchmade Osborne Reverse Tanto Folding Knife. Post up some good ones you love please.

There’s a great group of knife collectors and admirers on the ‘let’s talk knives’ thread. I’m sure you will get some good response if you join us over there. I’m mostly a fixed blade guy but I have a couple benchmade knives. A spyderco and some others.

As already stated, I'm not a fan of folders; especially when they are being carried as a "back up" or primary self defense tool, EDC, etc…
However, I understand they have their place. Personally, if I had to choose a folder for my EDC, it would be the Emerson CQC-7….

I’ve been carrying a Benchmade Bugout or Mini Bugout the last few years. No complaints - unbelievably lightweight.

    Doesn’t hold a candle to a @gosolo custom though.

My grandfather, God rest his soul, said a man should ALWAYS carry a knife, ALWAYS. no exceptions. He carried one like this though I think it was probably made in the 1930s. He kept it sharp and did it himself. Amazed me how sharp he could keep it and he ALWAYS had it, that and a handkerchief. haha.

My regular carry - also picked up a 309 recently.

Old man carried many different - but I remember him buying this one on 1984. He passed in 2017 - I picked it from his night stand and planned on burying it with him - then decided I’d just keep it myself. He would have wanted it to be passed on - so that’s exactly the plan.

Always liked them - small size and useful. Keep a 112 auto elite as well in the truck. Again / prefer the size vs the bigger 110 and one hand operation is useful when working.

Have many different Bucks - but nothing will ever replace these 2 for me.

Been a knife guy since I was a boy. Had some fancy ones in my marine corps days and younger days. Expensive several hundred dollar knives don’t “work” well, or in other words, I don’t like using them for anything heavy duty for fear of damage.

I’ve found middle of the road to cheap Kershaw knives to be the best bang for the buck in quality and variety without spending so much that you can’t just replace it when you need to.

    cheers :)

i have both the 940 Osborne and the smaller 945 Osborne. Both are terrific knives but just to be perfectly honest for an EDC i found the 940 is a little on the large size for my needs and it doesn't carry nearly as light.
My only recommendation would be to give each a feel and go with whichever suits you best.

I also inherited my 301 in the 90s. Sadly I lost it to a hole in my pocket a couple of years ago, I never felt it slide down my leg. It was hard to get, but I did find a replacement. I've a 309 and a 110, but the 301 is the one that stays in my pocket.

If I am carrying a pocket folder, it’s one of these. Usually only when I’m over at the coast, cutting bait and rinsing in salt water. Three Rivers, Benchmade and a spyderco F6B38CCD-4C37-4AA9-9152-97A7C5B298E4.jpg

I’m a Bugout fan as I like the lightweight knives and drop point blades. I recently picked up a Hogue Deka in Magnacut. Not a big fan of the FRN scales on it but i do like it.
I also have a Zero Tolerance 045CF that is a very light and smaller knife.
Picked up a Liong Mah GSD V2 made by Reate for those times I wear pants and a belt as it’s a bit chonky

After all the knives I've owned for 60 years, Benchmade's Contego model 810 has been the most convenient I've ever had. Full ambi features and with proper blade pivot adjustment, it's more 'one-hand' operation, than any automatic I've owned. One, if not both are on me where ever I go.Resized_20200517_074218.jpg Resized_20200517_074148.jpg

My "everyday" carry knives are a collection of cheap blades, as I have a habit of losing them. If I manage to wear it down to the point it needs to be sharpened, I usually toss it and buy a new one. I also own several benchmades I carry when I'm not at work.

I have a ton of junk knives so I am going to run to Basspro. They seem to have the best selection around me a pick something up from Benchmade.

Why not order from benchmade directly? Can customize it and upgrade the steel if you want. I did that and they shipped it out in only a couple days and it wasnt much more expensive for the customization unless you go carbon fiber or something.

That's what I usually do. Beware where you get Benchmade knives from, a lot of imitations that look good but the steel is junk.
