Mini14 here, but i've added a rail, so same-same, no need to tell you why mine is better.

whats the consensus on the romeo/juliet combo. Really liked it in my buddies AR, pretty affordable. Gives you enough zoom to see where you're hitting at 40 yds. Worth it or should i keep shopping?

I have the Romeo MSR and Juliet magnifier on a Stribog 9mm and I like it. I like the Sig offerings since they're cheap but seem good (enough) quality. With that said I'm not throwing my guns around and just doing normal shooting at the range.

The Romeo MSR by itself isn't bad, but the view area is on the small side. The Romeo 5 red dot I have on a handful of guns and has a much larger viewing area. I think you can get the MSR or the 5 in the Romeo/Juliet kits, and if that's the case I'd go with the 5. Although I haven't tried the magnifier with the Romeo 5.

I have the eotech green retical and the 3x magnifier on my ddm4 v7 and love it .. it's as close to parallax free as you can get wich is awesome being as where that retical is no matter where your at on the optics is where it's hitting wich is great from a tactical stand point I haven't gone to much past 100 yards yet with mine but it was super accurate with only the 3x magnifier behind it so my vote is eotech all day however I have ran an Aimpoint on my mp-5 back in the day but had to work a little harder to acquire a target then with my eotech

This was the grouping with the eotech and magnifier at 100 yards pic taken with phone Skope on vortex spotting scope for reference ... not the best grouping by any means but for a 3x with the rifle bagged no bi pod I feel it did great considering it more of a fighting rifle then anything ... hope this all helps !

Just got this Sig Sauer 1-6 scope today, sighted it in at 36 yards. I love it and I love being able to see the target clearly and make accurate shots. The scope came with the mount already attached.

Vortex Strike Eagle 1-6 in a LaRue Mount
Trijicon MRO in a Kinetic Defense Sidelok mount
2 - Steiner MRS both in Kinetic Defense Sidelok mounts.

Newest build will likely get a Trijicon Credo 1-4 LaRue or Aero mount.

I had an MSR and honestly could not stand the stiff and clunky brightness control, would not do it again. If not for that, great budget optic. I just pony up the extra 20-30 bucks and do the Romeo 5 now when I need another one for a new rifle or upper.

Top budget optic in terms of overall value in my opinion. 120-130 bucks for 50k hours of battery life and shake awake. Pick it up and it turns on at your previous brightness setting. Or you just hit buttons to change. No need to mess with a clunky knob that has a stop at the max brightness so you can't go through everything in a continuous turn, and it makes you cycle all the way through that clunkiness from the off position every time.

I vote for the T-2. It is my go to for AR optic.
