Thought I'd post an update here... Not a Pro, but she's leveled so essentially the same height as a pro. And she's got the pro BBS wheels.

    2021 Platinum with new BFG KO3 in 295/70 R18.

My thoughts after about 100 miles... I upgraded from stock size street tires, so keep that in mind.

    1. They're smaller than I anticipated. BFG's website has them listed at 34.3" tall and 11.8" wide. Mine are nowhere near that. Only about 33" tall and maaaaybe 10.5" wide? This is at 42 PSI right after Discount Tire installed them. (And yes, they are 295/70/r18.) I honestly thought Discount had installed the wrong size when I first saw them because I expected them to be wider. But in all honesty, I think they look perfect.
EDIT: WhiteSR5 made a good point that the vertical measurement will be off as the tire is under load. When measured horizontally, the diameter is much closer to the advertised 34.3. Hard to tell exactly but it looks to be spot on.
Width-wise, the tread itself is not the widest part of the tire. By my eyeballs it's about 11.5" or so at the widest point.

    2. On the road, these things are sticky. Feels a little more sluggish than the stock tires, but I expected that.

    No balancing issues so far.

Impressively quiet, I must say. The increase in road noise over stock is marginal if any.

Haven't driven enough to report on MPG.

Also haven't taken them off-road (I don't do much of that with this truck anyway), and it hasn't snowed here yet, so I can't speak to that. We're supposed to get some storms this week though, so if that's the case I'll report back.

Traction on wet roads will be the test as that was a weakness on the KO and KO2.

Yep! The KO3’s are supposed to have much better wet traction. We did get some rain here last night. I will say it wasn’t easy to break them loose.

Wow, this post has me thinking about cancelling my order for 295/70/18 KO3s. I'm moving up from 285/65/18 KO2s (32.6") and was drawn to the 34.3" spec. You are barely measuring 33"... if you had not confirmed the size again, I would have questioned you. Did they say why the large discrepancy?

Makes me think I need to go up a size..

You can always bring a tape measure with you and if you don’t like the way they look then say it’s not what you ordered.

Discount tire and BFG websites both list the height at 34.3”.

For me, the size is actually perfect. But I was shocked at the difference between what was listed and what they actually are. Maybe 34.3” is the height with an unmounted tire and no load? :notsure:

Bfg ko2 looked very small for their size as well. Its the way the shoulder sweeps in up to the tread

try measuring across the tire horizontally. Your vertical measurement will be off because the tire is compressing under load.

Ah, you are correct... Why didn't I think of that?

Roughly 34" across and about 11.5" wide at the widest point of the tire. As mentioned above, the tread itself is not the widest point of the tire.

Still - all smiles here so far!

I think BFG KOs are known for running a tad smaller than advertised. Still a good tire - just something to consider. It’s true on my wife’s 4runner.
Question: I’ve got 295/70r18 on my TRD pro and the tire is like 1/4” from touching the UCA. If I get a wheel with slightly more offset than the stock BBS, will that move the tire further away from the UCA?

I just got a new to me 2014 SR5 with RC coilovers and level kit and Mickey Thompson 295/70/18 . It currently has steel wheels which will be changed soon but tire size is a pretty good size . The MT website says these are 34.3.

I know I’m late to the party but did the tires rub on the front tire air dam/splash guard?

Well I installed some 295 70r18 KO3'S today and no issues other than small rub on sway bar at full lock... took the small front flap off but probably could of left it... also precut skid plate just incase... still have clearance between UCA and over many bumps and train tracks on the way home with Zero issues

No lift. Stock rims. Had to remove the little mud flap in front of the front tires bc they rubbed at full turn.

nice! just put on some KO3’s in the same size 295/70/18, but had to remove the front mud flaps. it was just slightly catching that pointed area on the inner side of the mud flap (your 1st pic in your post). i’m running Bilstein 5100’s in the middle setting too, but my rims are a +25mm offset (SCS Ray10’s).
just wondering what psi you’re running?

I’m shock/shackle lifted a touch higher than a Pro, I recently switched from 295/70R18 NRG to K03, the K03’s definitely look smaller. They list lighter, the wet traction is great, so is snow/ice but they’re brand new. What I do notice is I don’t ever recall my NRG’s being so quiet. If you want a beefier look between the two, go NRG. I’m more than happy with the K’s. Will post pics when daylight.

Purchased the truck with 35 x 12.5 on it and spacers. Previous owner removed the flaps & front liners for clearance . I removed the spacers & went down to 295's and will put liner's back on. That's about it.

Replaced my oem Michelins with 51k with Nitto Terra Grapplers. Stepped up to 295/70/18’s this am. They look, fit, and ride great. Plenty of room by the uca. Minimal if any wheel poke on a stock ‘21 TRD Pro. Cost hurt though.

2021 TRD PRO 100% stock. No one else has reported on these tires but I got Mickey Thompson Baja Boss 295/70/18 and so far no rubbing. No hate on anyone but everything I see is Falken or Nitto so I wanted something different. I marked certain points like the front/rear mud flaps and fender liners, the UCA, the frame, and the sway bar with yellow chalk and will follow-up to check if anything shows any wear but I had my guy at Discount Tire turn the wheels completely lock to lock and another worker jumped on my side step up and down while I was underneath inspecting everything. Then I went to a big parking lot right by my house and turned the wheel all the way left/right and went forward in circles and backward in circles and didn't feel or hear any rubbing. Like I said I will follow up in the next couple of days but here's some pictures for you guys. I had BFG K02 before and they developed sidewall cracking, they were manufactured in June 21 so 4.5 years old. I also weighed the new tire vs the old and the new tire was 18lbs heavier (53 vs 71) and my speedo reads 1-2mph based off cruise control vs a GPS speedometer. I'm beyond happy though if I don't have to make any modifications, that is going to be awesome!

*Edit* after about 500 miles, I've lost about 1--1.5mpg city driving. Haven't had a highway/long drive yet.

#197 2021 Tundra TRD Pro Double Cab ordered in it's final model year. You could only get a TRD Pro double cab in 2021 buy ordering one. I ordered five weeks before Toyota closed down orders for that year. I would argue my TRD Pro is one of the rarest Tundra's ever made. 285/70/18 Nitto Ridge Grapplers. RCI rock sliders Leer Tonneau Cover NSV Hood Mounted Lightbar. Genuine Cooling Systems Transmission Cooler (FU Toyota for taking the coolers off in the 1st place WTF) Suspension air bags for better towing.
I run 285/70/18 Ridge Grappler's on my 2021 TRD Pro. A big reason why I run that size is they are 19 lbs. a piece lighter than the 295/70/18 version, and my cousin who has a 2019 Tundra with the 295/70/18's gets 2-3 MPG hit, while in my 2021 I don't believe the 285/70/18's impact my MPG at all. IMHO the 4.30 rear end does really well up until you get to the weight of the 295's, and then 295 and bigger it starts to impact the MPG quite a bit. My wife and I just went to a wedding in Louisiana last week (we live in Texas), and I got 17.4 MPG the entire trip. For a truck rated 13/17 that's pretty dang good. In town I typically average about 15 to 15.5 mpg.
