I purchased my 2023 Tundra, 1794 Edition, 3 months ago. I have been experiencing problems with the driver's seat leg support repeatedly not working. The dealer fixed it a couple of times, even replacing the bottom frame of the seat. The last time I had it fixed I was told that I can't push the support all the way up or down because there is no mechanical stop and it will run off the track and stop working. At this time, that is Toyota's fix for the problem. Has anyone else experienced this?

    All comments are welcomed.

    Thanks,
    Scott

    Take it to another dealer.

I've heard of this thigh extender to stop working or working intermittently on some of the trucks... And dealer would replace the unit to fix it. These issues doesn't seem to be frequent on the forum so I assume it's not as common.

I've been lucky enough with mine to always work and I never have to think twice about extending it all the way out or in... Never heard that you aren't supposed to be doing this. Some bs

Mine stopped working twice in the all the way down position. I jiggled the wire, pushed on the seat and pushed the button all at the same time and it started working fine again. I wont take it all the way down again though.

I had mine stop working after I raised the seat up trying to find a way for a 6 foot tall person to see out of the truck lol...found the best compromise I could and then the cushion extender wouldn't work...took it to the dealer, showed the check in guy, the service writer went out to confirm and came back in 2 minutes to show me it worked...you do have to hold the button for a second...IDK.

I noticed when I first got mine that if I keep it all the way in and leaving it there, it seems to "stick". I started to run it in then extend it out just a hair and I never had a problem with it since.

Ok. Mine worked intermittently at first but now not at all. I’ll try to bang it, fram it, rattle wires as others have suggested. Is it just me, or is it concerning that this forum is riddled with new owners coming up with diy tricks to overcome lack of fit and finish by Toyota on a 70k truck?

I've had my Platinum Tundra since 08/2023....the seat leg extender button is intermittent at best....I read this thread yesterday....tried adjusting the leg extender last night... Nothing...I definitely hear clunks and thunks in the seat bottom...nothing extends though....

THEN this AM, start up my Tundra, immediately try to adjust the seat extender....WORKED AS INTENDED.... What's up TOYOTA?!

I bought a Tundra 2023 Capstone same problem and two dealers said they know nothing about it. One even said he has no idea about the gas line recall. seems the right hand does not inform the left hand what is going on

Mine did the same. After I use it, I run it most of the way down and I've never had a problem with it since.

I work on the other end of Toyota and sure as Hell don't know every TSB! NOT all dealerships are the same I agree, but knowing all the TSBs on alllll of these vehicles is impossible without putting in the Vin and start searching.
Probley call and ask form them to look up a particular issue and have them call you back or ask for the service manager or call Toyota directly? Service writers are none stop, been there done that lucky if you get a piss break some days.
My seat (leg ext) have been working great @ 9500 miles.

If heated or cooled seats are on it won’t work, search feature works wonders folks!

Just picked up my 1794LE today, didn't mess with the seats to much but will check this in the morning! I can say this though, my tailbone hurt after sitting in it for 3 hours on the drive home. The saddlebag seats are gorgeous but very stiff.

I have a '24 1794. I have found if I run the leg support all the way out it will stick there. When I try to run it back I hear the mechanism trying to work but it sticks. If you bump the switch a few times it seems to free the issue. I hope Toyota has put out a TSB on this. It seems to me a stop just prior to full extension would do the trick.

The 2g and 2.5g seats are light years better in terms of comfort. My 3rd gen was always just “okay”. Our pro Seqouia with seat jackets is a damn lounge chair, only thing I’m really missing are vented seats- all my prior gen tundras were platinums with the vented seats, which barely worked but made a big difference

My 3rd Gen cool vents are lame compared to the wifes 2019 Lexus. I prefer the 3rd Gen for comfort, polar opposite of you LOL

Techs said the driver seat track/frame assembly is the issue. Part is on back order

Hey Scott. My 23 Platinum has been to the dealer 5 times for the leg extender. Just picked it up yesterday and it was because the “track” was bound up. They’ve replaced the assembly twice. Basically what I’m saying is you’re not the only one unfortunately!
