yes the snugtop kinda overhangs on the sides. I got mine on CL but I would go leer If I could. Also the rear window sits much more flush and cleaner on the leer xr than the snugtop in my opinion. I removed the decals for cleaner look so it doesnt matter.

Gotcha...wonder what the point of the design is of it overhanging? Perhaps to keep out moisture? My local Toyota dealer is pushing the Snugtop big time and says the Leer has given them problems. Price point on the ST is rich but worth the money if it works like it should and they stand behind their product. Yours looks good. CL score for sure.

All based on what looks you prefer. Snugtop owns leer now. All of the brands have problems. Its hit or miss if you watch the reviews on youtube. Had the same snug on my tacoma with no issues. This one occasionally has leaks. Just know they all arent water proof. All the sides windows are made by one company for all the toppers (I was told). Front window on the snugtop opens up. Leer is completely removable I believe. The sides on the leer is recessed more.

I’d go ARE if you are looking at other options I think they look the best on these trucks. Love my leer it’s had 0 issues other than the window struts needing replaced yearly.but I believe that’s common with any cap.

Dang yearly? Haven’t had issues on mine luckily and I open the front 9/10 to dry the windows after washes.

If I had a choice I’d go with ARE...I got my leer for $500 so it was a no brainer to take its a good canopy not bashing it at all. But between the big three I’d go with ARE if I had the cash

no issues with my snugtop. fit is good and I feel the slight overhang makes for a cleaner look and protects better from the elements.. I also removed my bed decals before I had the camper.

Right on. That’s a good perspective shot. It looks a bit more fitted from that angle. How’s the dust build up inside? Does it stay pretty clean after running on dusty roads?

Yes! Thanks for posting this. I drafted a build online and wanted to see what the fit looked like without the bottom trim. There it is. Thanks dude.

I had an ARE tonneau on my first gen and it was solid top. I never had an issue with it. Looks like the back window latch on the topper is the same design as years past. Interesting.

I appreciate the guidance. Thank you.

    that’s a nice clean fit.

It’s unfortunate that ARE isn’t making their new CX shells for Tundras.

Anyone with a 100XR on a third gen know the actual height between the bed and the cap with the door open? Leers specs state 34 1/2 inches which seems a bit short with the bed being 22 inches deep. I have a hard time believing the back window is only 12.5 inches tall, so I must be reading their specs wrong here for model code 56TT14.

My Leer 100XR was back in for warranty work this week. Rear liftgate seal was replaced. Water was leaking in and freezing. Hopefully it's dialed in and that's the last trip.

I have had my 100R for about a month now. A month with a lot of rain! No leaks so far!
I do wish I had gone with the option for the drop out front window - I went pure base for everything, except for the carpet headliner, which was free with a promotion...

Nice! I had not thought about adding it in myself... wonder if it can be done from inside the bed while cap is still on truck...

I looked into it, and the answer is no. We maybe able to pull it off if with have a DC with a roll down window. But, my plans is just to slide it about 1-2 feet and do be able to easily undo the cording easily to be able to undo the glass. I might do mine at the same time as I do the carpet, so it will be completely off the truck on it's roof/crossbar.

Did you get it with the roof rails but not the cross bars? Or did you take off the posts?

I ordered the topper with tracks only from the factory. I have a Prinsu rack I’ll be installing here in the next couple days.

Having the option to remove the front window is huge. #1 for cleaning your rear window in the truck. #2 if you're like me and took the window out to place a gasket so heat/ac can get into the bed.
