I'd like to upgrade my 2017 halogen headlights to OEM 2018 LED headlights. Is this possible and has anyone done this?

    Yep.

Here's a cheat sheet for ya:

Right side TRD Pro LED headlight. Part # 81110-0C211
Left side TRD Pro LED headlight. Part # 81150-0C211

You will need, as you will discover, an iHacker electrical harness to make it all work.

I did the same....excellent upgrade and well worth the cost/effort! Post above has lights, then contact @iHacker for the harness- 2 differrent ones available I think, one dims the DRL when lights are on, other keeps DRL bright. The harness that keeps DRL bright is easier to wire, does not need an extra wire going into the cab.

Really appreciate that! I've done a lot of research and I believe with all the 3rd market options OEM is the best way to go.

Not sure if you have amber DRLs that are your parking/turn signal lights, or the white LED strip at the bottom of the headlight for your current DRL.

The white LED strips on the top and bottom of the OEM LED.
    The factory setup is:
With parking/headlight off and engine running, they are bright DRLs.
With parking/headlight on they are dim.

IMO - You need to wire them so that the bright circuit has an IGN feed and the dim circuit has a parking light feed to take advantage of their greatness.
Some guys just run them bright, but they are pretty bright at night and could drown out your turn signal.

If you contact @iHacker through a PM he can give you your options and answer your questions.
There are usually some variables on how he makes the adpater.

I had amber DRLs on my 2014 and I liked them.
I didn't like the bright white DRLs, because for one thing, everyone has them.

He was able to make my adapter so that I retained my amber DRLs during the day, and I have the dim white strip DRLs at night.
With my truck and what I wanted, my upgrade was plug and play, no extra wiring or repinning of connectors.

1LowLife, thanks for posting the 25% off! It was perfect timing as I just ordered the iHacker harness from Mario yesterday. I planned to wait it out and just keep an eye out for a dealer sale on the Black TRD Pro Toyota 81110-0C211, 81150-0C211 setup. Then I log into the forum this morning and there's your post. I was just able to order the pair with the 25% off and free shipping for $464.01 OTD!! Very excited to get these installed and upgrade my night vision and it'll also be nice to get rid of the one halogen light assembly that's fogged. Thanks again for making me aware of the 25% off free shipping deal!

That is awesome, but I will give @SAGE63 the credit for saving you the money.
He posted the discount on another thread.

I think you will be happy with the upgrade.
Make sure you mark your existing light beam before the swap.
You might need to fine-tune the levels when you're done, but it is very easy with a long handled Phillips screwdriver.
There are instructions here as well as YouTube videos.

Personally, I went the cheaper route and got Vland LED headlights. So far Ive been more than happy with their performance and install was a breeze. At over half the cost of OEM, made a lot of sense to me

I thought of going after market but after much research even the most expensive after market headlight were problematic after a few years of use. I hope you have better luck!

Me too! I read about the orange DRL overheating the housing so I wired it so it doesn’t come on except for turn signals so that should avoid that issue.

Not sure what level you're wanting to go to but all I did was get the LED bulbs and put those in. I will say it's a pretty good challenge on how to get access to the headlight bulbs when you have a very big aftermarket bumper in the way. I "deleted" some cosmetic parts to facilitate a much easier change when they burn out.

My lens are starting to fog up and rather than sanding, polishing and clear coating them to only last a few years I feel it's best to upgrade them at this point.

are you applying a UV protectant sealer after polishing? I polished the headlight on our 4Runner a couple years ago and with the UV sealer they still look great.

No, I never heard of it, that probably would have helped.
I just remember once I started polishing my 2005 headlights, they would glaze over pretty quick.
    Same for my 2014 halogens.
If I ever have to do my 2018+ OEM LED headlights I'll remember to put a sealer on them..:D

I went with iHacker harness and 2019 black trd pros for my 2015 1794 edition. All should be in this weekend.

    Well thanks to Sage63 too!

Appreciate the advise on marking my original aim prior to removal. I'd seen that mentioned in some of the threads. My harness from iHacker is set for delivery today and got notification from Fred Anderson Toyota that my new headlights have shipped. I'll post some before and after pics and my impressions once the install is complete. Thanks again to all on the heads up for the discount.

Yep, that would be what I would do too. Mine are a little foggy but only on the top edges. How did your project turn out? Were they plugged and play or did you have to delete or modify anything?

If they're the OEM halogens then polishing the fog out of them is a waste of time compared to swapping them out for the OEM LEDs. When I bought my '16 Tundra this time last year that was my only disappointment with the truck: the headlights were no better than my 13 year older 2003 Tundra I was driving at the time. I expected projector headlights like my wife's 9 year older 2007 4Runner.
