LED exterior lights, do I need a resistor?

    Hey guys! Long time! So anyway, I've been busy with new stuff but lately I said the hell with it and bought the LED license plate lights (
    $16 VIPMOTOZ Red OLED Neon Tube Pure White SMD LED License Plate Light Tag Lamp Assembly Replacement For 2005-2015 Toyota Tacoma & 2000-2013 Tundra Pickup Truck

(With headlights on everything is how it should) but when I turn off the headlights, and engine on, the lights stay dimmed/ and my map is still night mode. If I'm just on battery power, the compass will switch, but the radio will not. Should I get a resistor? Of so, where should I splice it? Also all exterior lights are LED with the exception to headlights and fogs .

    Alot of them
    Resistors are used to eliminate hyperflashing on turn signals.

    IF all you did was install those plugin lights, I would suggest unpluging the new T10 plug and see if things go back to normal. IF the below instructions is what you used from your Amazon link, cannot see how that would cause your symtoms !

    Might try going back to the old assys with a higher quality bulb like Sylvania Zevo type. First try your old bulbs again and then do the Sylvania next.

    Do you have your tails and 3rd brake led as well? I have the XEVO lights for everything else in the back, except these.
