Here's where I tapped the fuses and then connected them to the white dimming wires.

And towards the end of the video the headlights come on and you see the DRLs dim

Thanks again! Didn't notice them dimming when you posted the video the first time. Unless I'm mistaken looks like the dimming feature works only for the DRL mode and not while they are blinking. Very nice since looks like the DRL's dim down much better to match the brightness of the headlights. Now I've got to do this.

Yeah the video is a little deceiving but the dim works on the DRLs and the turns.

and the turns as well, good to know. That's probably for the better as these LED's are bright!

Where did you mount your resistors in the front for the switchbacks? I just talked to VLED and they said the resistors get really hot and to not mount them on plastic.

When you have your headlamps off you'll see there some open spots of metal that you can mount the resistors too via the double sided tape.

Sad to report but I've given up on the V3's ... both bulbs ended up having problems either lighting up or switching back. I called VLeds and they replaced both bulbs without any problem (great customer service) However, Thursday when I went to hook up the new bulbs the first one worked perfectly, the second one not so ... it would turn on only whenever I used the hazards/blinkers but not as a DRL. I ended up pulling the whole system out in frustration. When I get the chance I will try and play with them once more, but if they don't work as expected ... I'll be giving up on the V3's.

It's so sad Steve, the kit looks like such a quality build. It's just sad that these bulbs have been failing. Not to mention I've had issues with a few of the Headlight Revolution front parking lamps too. :annoyed:

I really couldn't tell you if they do or don't ... I was so pleased with the quality of the kit that I never thought I'd have to worry about bulb issues.

    Kris,
I like the way you did. What mini fuse did you use for the white wire? 15A?

talked with Vleds today, the switchbacks use less than 1.5A
They told me 5A fuse should be plenty

I know this is an old post, but i just hooked up the V6 Tritons. They look good, but the are hella bright. I am worried about them at night. They might be brighter than the OEM head lights. I plan on upgrading the headlights/ fogs soon to either a LED or " white halogen to match. Can anyone help me with the "dimming" install? Kris's video is no longer available. I'm not great with this kind of stuff. The install took me a little longer than i wanted it to.

Sure, tap in the dimmer wire to the connection on the wiring set up from vleds, strip a little bit of wire at the end unplug the head lamp connector and wedge it between the male, female lamp connector. I added some electrical tape to seal it better. All it does is sense a power source and it cuts the power to the switch backs about 10%.

Any tips on installing these along with the 2018 LED's? I'll be doing this modification as soon as my order from VLED's arrives. Thanks in advance!

I’ll be doing the headlights update as well. I’ve got http://www.vleds.com/triton 5000K in the old housing and wondering if:
    1. It fits the 2018 housing.
    2. Would 5000K look too yellow compared to the surrounding LED DRL?

You got the harness from ihacker right? Since these are not plug and play?

You can bypass the turns on the harness and plug the switchbacks into your regular turn plugs.

    1. It fits the 2018 housing. - Yes the vleds come with a ton of adaptors to make it fit. I had mine in my 2015 lights, the spyder lights and the 2018 lights.
    2. Would 5000K look too yellow compared to the surrounding LED DRL? - Mine are 6k and they almost match perfectly (Disclaimer - mine are the V3 tritons)

Yeah, I got the harness from iHacker. I also ordered the 7440/7443 base adapter so they have the same connector type as the 2018's, so I am guessing that they will just plug in and work with the exception of the dimming circuit. Did you do the dimming circuit the same way you did on the truck you had when you first posted this thread? Thanks!

Yeah I have the switchbacks plugged into my factory plug (no adapter) and didn't use the turn plugs on the harness. The vleds have a dimming wire that I taped into the headlights in the fuse box, so when the headlights come on the switchbacks dim.
