What year is the truck? I wired mine to the trailer pin connector I believe.

Go to the trailer pin. But I don’t think it’s constant 12v unless the keys on. If you want a constant 12 all the time go to the battery and buy a switch for the lights. I have one that when you let the tailgate down they automatically come on.

Yes I bought one that has a switch that should turn on when you lower the tailgate also. So that's why I'm looking for a constant power.

Battery. Or trailer pin with the key on...unsure of the taillight...grab a meter and see which one has power. There’s three wires.

In the driver side sill plate is a dark brown wire that you can grab and will work off the cargo lamp switch. On/off with door lock/unlock open/close

Never have to worry about leaving it on
