Just started happening: Driver seat, upright part of the seat, middle back, when I apply pressure or sit back, it creaks and croaks. Pretty loud. Like a spring is very loud or something. Not something you expect out of a nearly $80k vehicle. Heck, even a $30k if go back to the dealership and complain.

Anyone have an issue similar to this? Does warranty cover this? Thanks

I plan to keep bugging my dealership about it too... I call it the Adam's Family seat...

My 2022 1794 does this a little bit. Does not really bother me.

As someone who's driven cross country multiple times in an 88' Suzuki Samurai that wouldn't go more than 60mph and didn't have a heater during a Midwest winter, I have to say I'm not known to be too hoity toity when it comes to vehicle confort. But after taxes and upgrades, I paid $80k+ for a vehicle. The creaking definitely stands out like a sore thumb

Yeah, my truck goes in for the noise and cracked seat trim tomorrow. Didn't pay all this money for a Platinum for it to be falling apart like that.

My 1794 also has the creaking noise. Let us know what your dealer says. I haven’t taken mine in but will do it soon.

I had this on my Trd pro once. They fixed it under warranty. I believe it was a broken seat weld.

    Lots of stuff!
My 90 Samurai had some pretty terrible seats too, just vinyl and steel springs! I had the rig for about 10 years and ended up with a VW GTI engine and VW Recaros. Was much better running 33's and lockers!

My Limited softex seats are nice a quiet, I am not too sure what the higher trims would have that makes them squeak, perhaps the lumbar piece is making the noise?

My limited does the same. I have had it in 4 times for this issue. Idiot dealer thinks it is normal for leather seat or they can’t hear it. It is the mechanism that holds the lumbar support and the fan for the ventilated seat back. Took me 5 minutes to isolate it at home. They have allegedly spent 6-10 hours trying to chase it down. I am going to carry it in again this week and shown them how to do their job.

My 2021 w/ cloth seats creaks and pops from the lumbar mechanism. It’s annoying but I haven’t done anything about it. Maybe a “COVID quality” thing :notsure: everything else is quiet and rattle free

Is it loose or why is it creaking?

To be honest, I haven’t got that far with it to determine the exact calls of why it is creaking. I paid a large sum of money for a new truck, and I expect the manufacturer and their dealer Netwerk to make it correct. I am confident though that the frame mechanism that all that hardware resides upon has a broken joint or bad connection of some sort.

Lower seat frame? Mine is in the upper back area. They took the seat apart, removed some plastic that was over a coil, and then put the seat back together.

Noise is worse now than it was before. Called Toyota corporate (had a case open for this and a few other issues) and they'll see what else can be done.

I picked up a 23 1794 last night and, after a few miles, started having the same issue. It seems to be localized to the seat ventilation stuff so my money is on needing a little silicon on a union somewhere in there. I've contacted the dealer, we'll see what happens.

My dealer messed with the seat and it seems to be coming from the airbag region on my truck. It goes in next week for a case with toyota, we'll see what they come up with.

My dealership got me sorted. There is a plastic retainer for the lumbar that has the two metal guide rods going through it. It seems that is either made of the wrong plastic or not sized correctly and creaks for taller drivers. They wrapped it with some felt tape and added a few more pieces on the bare spots and it's nice and quiet now. This isn't the official toyota fix, but they got me into a quiet cab until one comes out.

IMG_6799.jpg IMG_6798.jpg IMG_6799.jpg Took my tundra into my dealership and they stated that Toyota U.S.A. recognizes that there is a problem with the seat and are currently working on a solution. As of right now, Toyota U.S.A. has advised my dealership to insulate the the lumbar support rods as a “temporary fix.” Noise has been reduced by about 95%
