I would have done the same thing @Sean266 did, but I would have phrased it differently. Alex just said the wrong thing at the wrong time. Usually Sean is pretty laid back until you push certain buttons. Hell he has deleted plenty of my stuff and sent me a PM to explain (when he fully knows he doesn't have to) why. I never take it personal on here. After all, it is a cool website, but there are rules and code of conduct.

In the end, not my site, not my mods, not my members, not my care. I'm only responsible for what my thumbs do.

Sometimes a few a day. Sometimes zero for weeks on end.

You also add value to the site. Someone with 13 posts in 6 months? Not so much. That doesn't mean you're unbannable (none of us are- even staff) but sometimes it's a reminder is all that is needed.

He wants to be a dick, be a dick on TT. I told him "don't be a dick" he got butthurt over it and snapped back.

It's really mod discretion ...just have to use your best judgement at the time. Some things I have a zero tolerance on...some I'm more laid back (as you mentioned) but if one is going to basically tell me to pound sand ...why bother, ya know?

I'll get off my rant now :)

I have a friend who once said "Act like a Bafoon and you get treated like a Bafoon". He was the manager at a bar I used to hang out at. After a few people acted a Bafoon and was treated as such everyone else learned not to act a Bafoon in his bar. I believe that is why this is the best forum. No one is allowed to act like a Bafoon. Besides the guy was warned.

We are all adults on here, and it is good we keep our standards high and hold each other accountable to those standards.

We have 20 year olds on here that act more mature than 40 year olds. That was proven to be true today.

The day this place starts feeling like TT or TW, it will be my last. There are hundreds of sites that I can waist time on, I just chose this one due to the people and content.

Only problem it's very difficult to ban someone. There are plenty of ways around it I have been banned from TT a few times but still have logins. Not that I use them cause the site sucks.

Bug and tar goes a long way, spray it and let it sit, be patient, try to wipe it with microfiber, repeat. It will work, just takes a while.

Like others said, the longer they are on there the harder they are to get off.

Sorry about your headlights OP. I had a girlfriend (many yrs. ago) who washed my BMW with a scrubbing pad.
Ironic: I believe that "what's wrong with society" is a lack of compassion, understanding, forgiveness and kindness. Those simple things we were all supposed to learn in preschool about how to treat one another. I don't want to sound "holier than thou". I'm far from exemplary in my daily conduct but I try.
I know who Alex is from TT. He sets up offroading trips and invites people to tag along. I'm sure he knows a lot more about off roading and Tundras than I. But there's really no excuse for being a condescending, name calling ass. The couple of comments made by Alex exemplify the reason I don't frequent TT anymore.
Hats of to you Sean266 for illustrating several of the "preschool" rules, forgiveness, understanding and kindness by changing your "sentence". It speaks well of a man he can change his decision.
