i see it now thanks I had overlooked it somehow.

I will try tomorrow to seat that.

I assume when you tighten it down the rubber donut kinda pinches the very top in place?

The sky jackers aren’t bad for the price. They seem a little on the stiff side, which I guess translates to “secure”, but also they may need to wear in a little.

Not really, the tension in the boot itself is what keeps it secure. You'll need to expand the top of the boot to fit around the washer. You'll see what I mean tomorrow when you tinker with it.

The boot itself literally has a groove that the washer will sit in.

So I put those boots in place Saturday morning and they didn’t last the weekend - just noticed they slipped down again.

so…are they too stretched out and not gripping? Other?

would a bead of silicone help?

Is there a flat spot to zip tie them? Before installing the shock into the upper mount

Not that I can tell. Just that groove for the flat to sit in, just beneath the rubber washer.

They came with a zip tie but I put that around the lower end on the main shock body.

Maybe the bottom is ziptied too far down the body?

just right where the tube flattens from the "curve up" from the inner part of the shock i think, but you raise a good point perhaps i'll check on it tomorrrow.

is there a rule of thumb for placement for that? should it be under no tension?

also going to reach out to extreme terrain tomorrow for tech support

Not sure how well it shows in the photo, but I’ve noticed a slight droop on the right side of the bed (vs the line across the cab)

what causes this? Is it related to the shock swap or is it something that just happens over time?

I thought it might be a low spot on the concrete but I’ve looked at it at 3-4 different locations now and it’s there.
