I can't make out where, or what, that is. Which flap is it?

I can't tell either. Thanks Adam. It's good to know 'cause that's exactly the type of thing that starts body rot/ rust.

Looks like it's between the door and the cab maybe? I don't remember a flap being there though.

The second gens get that too. It's the space behind the front wheels just above the front mud flap. Open the front door and look down from the lower hinge to the bottom of the front fender. There is a rubber "flap" there, push it in or pull it back and stick your finger in there and root about. I usually find a leaf or two, but on a neighbors truck there was caked mud and sand. Definitely want to keep that space cleared out.

Holy crap. Just cleaned mine out! It's on both drivers side and passenger side! Drivers side is worse for some reason. I'll have to rinse this out when it gets warmer!

Thanks for the heads up. I just cleaned them out on my second gen. They weren't too bad, but it would have accumulated and caused rust eventually. I added a photo for those who want a wider angle picture. The flap is just below the lower door hinge.
