so i’ve got it up a little more but now this won’t reach. I’m new to working on trucks so i’m not very familiar with what to do. do i just need to man handle it?

Take the sway bar loose from both sides. That should help.

Kinda looks like your bump stop is in the way. And you might need to remove a bolt from you sway bar.

I didn’t take that apart from my application. I loosened the lower part of that knuckle and disconnected. Loosen the LCA cam eccentrics if you’re lifting it. If it’s like for like height then you don’t need to.

Here are some instructions for the pro suspension installation. Maybe this will help.

Loosen the sway bar bolt in the front on both sides.

I had the same plm. Also, don’t tighten the sway bar until everything’s done. Had to go back and forth a few times.

Ok, this is going to make you so happy.

You didn't need to separate the knuckle from the UCA. The knuckle is a two piece design and you remove the two bolts on the bottom. The LCA alignment cam bolts need to be loosened a bit.

Remove the coilover assembly again, connect the knuckle and UCA, separate the lower part of the knuckle, reinstall CO, use floor jack to assemble the lower part of the knuckle and LCA, torque to spec.

Yeah and drop it down out of the way. Not the U-shaped brackets just the ones you already have the bolts taken out of. Swing it out-of-the-way. It needs to be disconnected on both sides.

You might want to try to reattach that upper knuckle. Hopefully you didn’t over extend that joint. I don’t know much about that piece and how it works internally. @ColoradoTJ any suggestions?

Make sure 4 wheel axle is in all the way on both sides first, then remove coil over assembly and reinstall spindle to upper control arm just get Nut snug so it does come loose. Then reinstall coil over , install top three bolts first then lower mount to lower control arm. Looks like you are fighting coilover spring tension

If that don’t help you might have to get coilover spring compressor to compress coil springs enough to fit in spring bucket

No it shouldn’t be that way. He’s fighting the sway bar as well as disconnecting the upper knuckle instead of the lower two bolts.

This is why I would like to see him pull the coilover, reattach the knuckle to the uca. The half shaft may have pulled out of the center section. If he is attempting to lift the suspension with the half shaft out of the differential splines, he will never get that knuckle back up to the uca. There is a good chance the shaft seal is damaged as of right now.

This is why we separate the knuckle and do the install this way. No prying on parts to attempt lining up.

Yes, there’s a lot of things that shouldn’t be done, especially the first dude outside, but considering the pickle the op is in, a video is prolly gonna be of some help. Watching these two videos, I had mine swapped out in about 1.5 hours per side. They may not be Toyota’s way of doing it, but they’re the only 2 videos I could find on swapping out front struts and they helped me, figured they could do the same for the op.

Except it’s so much easier to disconnect the lower control arm from the knuckle as opposed to the knuckle from the upper ball joint. If you’re just changing like for like coilover height, you don’t even need to loosen the alignment cam bolts. Just disconnect the sway bar and those two bolts. If you read the PDF that I posted, it shows this way to install TRD pro shocks.

Obviously it can be done the way he did it in the video. To be honest that’s the first video I watched before I performed my coil over swap. Glad I got the proper instructions before I did that. Also that first video was a 2x. Less stuff to worry about messing up when you disconnect that upper knuckle.

I already told him how to do it in 12 & 22 post. I had to swap out my 6112’s several times and a few COs.

The CO is one bolt and three nuts and it’s out at this point.

He needs to verify if the half shaft is seated all the way in.

I would bet a 6 pack the diff seal leaks in 10k miles if he keeps on wrenching on it.

This is where I would like to point out, at times, actually listening to a Toyota A Technician is a good thing. This is why I don’t call dealerships “stealerships”, and a true A Tech is a great resource. That’s how I learned it.
