Hey everyone! So I made the mistake of buying before reading the forum and ended up with a ktjo4x4 auto up down controller for the rear window. As everyone has seen there is little help from them. However, for anyone that has purchased this and gotten stuck with it, I have figured it out.

In the passenger side kick panel there is a black 16pin plug/connector at the lowest portion of all the kick panel connectors. This is the connection point. I am not sure if the other brands detail this (I couldn't find anything specific hence the post)
    IMG_6144.HEIC.jpg

you will undo this connector and connect the controller here.
IMG_6145.HEIC.jpg IMG_6146.HEIC.jpg IMG_6142.HEIC.jpg it is a tight fit but doable and once it's down you will have the auto up and auto down feature for the back windshield. To stop it mid roll you simply hit the other. And if you don't want the auto feature you simply hold the button like normal until you get to your desired level.

While I am not supporting companies with less than adequate support and customer service. I believe if you get stuck with a 40 dollar part it's better to try and use it than to give up.

after install I tested the window with a carrot. It cut the carrot easily and cleanly in half. so it does not have the safety feature. But hey at least It works!

Given the vendors previous issues on this forum I dont know if it's appropriate to post the link to the part here. If the moderators say it's ok then I don't mind but I also don't want to do anything wrong. I'm still getting used to how these forums work. Don't wanna get banned.

I mean if someone was really set on wasting their money they’d find the product without a link to it. :typing:

I stumbled across these a couple weeks ago and have not had a chance to install it yet.

What are the issues folks seem to be having with the module? I did a search here and did not find anything.

If I'm not mistaken, Sequoias have auto up and down on their back glass. Why Toyota left that off Tundras is beyond me.

The only issues I've seen or heard was that their items ship with absolutely no instructions and zero customer support of any kind (I called emailed and Facebook messaged and have gotten nothing). however after finding where it goes at least I can say that it works now. So not a complete waste of $40 and it only took about a few minutes to install once I found the right connection. It was pure plug and play no splicing or anything.

I wonder if the sensor would fit for the resistance in the window to auto down.

I believe it does this so the driver can't roll up the back window and accidentally close it on someone's arm. That's what the dealer told us during the test drive back in 2004 :notsure:

There is a thread around here somewhere. I’d be surprised if someone hasn’t mentioned KTJO on there.

    Edit, found it:

Glad I stumbled upon this thread. I saw a link to the module on Facebook a few weeks back and grabbed it.
Had not opened it yet. Just presumed it plugged into the harness behind the switch. I have some audio work to do and was just going to plug it in when the dash was apart.

    Thanks for the thread!

I pulled the passenger side kick panel this morning and plugged my module in and ZIP, ZILCH, NADA, NOTHING different. Window still operated but no one touch.

Guess I’ll send them an email and see where that gets me. But not getting my hopes up from the way folks talk.

Let me know if you ever get a hold of them. I did go back and tidy the wiring up some more there. I ran into a similar problem as others (not working) but I realized that my connectors do not have the catch like the stock harness so I had to really shove them in tight (was afraid I would break a wire honestly) it then finally worked. But all in all I wont recommend them to anyone anymore just due to lack of customer support.

KTJO has been radio silent with zero response to any of my emails.
I have initiated a charge back so we’ll see if their charge back notification spurns them to do anything.

    There's a reason why they're blacklisted here.

What is there to be confused about??
KTJO provided a faulty product. KTJO has refused to respond to my multiple emails informing them of the issue so that they can remedy it. I can’t locate a phone number on their site.
I paid with my credit card (most all credit cards have numerous forms of purchase protections).
I informed my CC company I wanted to dispute the charge considering I paid for a functioning product but did not receive one. I have made numerous attempts for the company to fix the issue. They have not even responded.
The CC company will inform KTJO that a charge back is being initiated. KTJO will have the opportunity to contact me or the CC company if they plan to fix the issue. If they decide not to remedy the issue my CC company will give me my money back and retrieve the money from KTJO’s account.

I guess not confused but not surprised you haven't heard anything back.

You have the CC company working for you so it will workout. Just a hassle to have to go through

Apparently this is par for the course for them.
I found them through FB and everyone else seems to have got a product that does not work and no reply to inquires.

This is why pretty much everything gets paid for with a CC by me.
The 2% cash back on all purchases and 5% on all Amazon is helpful too.
