    Hello All,

Confusing, headache, and ready to throw in the towel. This is my last resource. Please help, ahh!

I have 2001 Tundra v8 4.7L 2UZ-FE and I was ready to replace to the knock sensors. Bought the parts from eBay along with the wire harness. After we opened the manifold, the hardness was just chewed up and broke. I've read many threads on here but couldn't find the right part.

We installed the knock sensors, but the wire hardness was not correct as we couldn't find where to connect it to. The end connector got a 4 prong input.

I called the Toyota dealership and was given the part number: 82122-34071, which he said was discontinued. I searched online for the part number but nothing came up. Please help me find this wire harness? or suggest any other alternative I can try?

Your first mistake was buying parts from fleaBay. Never buy auto parts from fleaBay or scAmazon. Not only are the parts shit, or total counterfeits/off-brand, but you DO NOT want to pop the lid on the engine again to need to address the fact the shit-quality "genuine OEM" sensor you bought there ended up being a knockoff. It happens. Like, often enough I need to mention this warning.

You shouldn't need to replace the knock sensors themselves, just the harnesses, unless the rodents chewed it down to the nub? The harnesses vary over the years. I'm positive '00-'02 are the same, and it's possible '04-'06 are the same.

Going to RockAuto, it looks like, for the 2001, they have two replacement parts listed. Does this harness look right to replace the sub-harness, or if not, maybe this pigtail will allow you to splice into the nub that's leftover?

FYI, since you clearly live in a place with rodents, you need to do everything you can to protect those wires. Honda sells a "rodent tape" that you can wrap the wires in to, hopefully, prevent this happening again.

Rodent invasion is one of many problems you need to be aware of in these trucks. That and many other topics are deeply covered in here, a must read for all 1st gen owners, our community info thread.

FYI: @DKC is going thru what you're currently going thru right now, and probably having the same challenges. @bmf4069 has already been there and done that. This thread may be helpful for you. Don't buy anything until you see @DKC's thread here. That thread was literally on the front page of the forum when you made this new thread with virtually the same problem/year. His parts and process will be identical to his, given you're both 2001 V8 trucks.

I would put the stock sensors back in. I got the harness straight from Toyota and ended up having to splice it into the harness under the intake.

Thank you @shifty` , do you have picture of the harness you bought from Toyota?

Reviewing the thread from DKC now, thanks again.

I have a 2006, it uses different sensor harness.

@bmf4069 has a good pic of his in that thread I linked, and his is the same as yours.

But generally speaking, Dorman has a good parts lookup tool and makes quality stuff too, you may have luck with them: https://www.dormanproducts.com/

I was new back then and didn't think to get it for future use.

Thanks Shifty! I bought the wire harness similar to DKC's thread as you pointed out. Soldered it and works like a charm. I also replaced the one of the knock sensor as well. All is good no more check engine light, issue resolved!

Congrats dude! That's awesome news. And even better yet, the fact you could do the work on your own kicks serious ass. Got any pics of things as you did them you could share? May help, or inspire others who find themselves in the same position as you later.

I was busy patching and covering up the truck and forgot to take pictures unfortunately. Next time I'll try to take some photos.
