Reviving the thread; how are the “knock offs” holding up? Recently started thinking about putting a sway bar on the 2011 i’ve owned for about 9 years. Prior to the tundra, I had a 3rd gen 4runner that was built for crawling and the rear sway bar was one of the first things to go. So it’s been a long journey into manhood realizing sway bars are a good thing, especially since my single wheeling days have since been replaced with weekend trips to sams club to buy baby diapers in bulk. Not sure I want to spend the money just for the TRD name. Been looking at this one:

I got the TRD front and back for like $330 shipped to my door. Fred Anderson Toyota still got a 25% off with free shipping and dealer discount on top of that. Can't beat the price.

Damn, that's tempting....literally ready to pull the trigger on mine from my local dealer for $289.75 with taxes and picking it up in person. With Fred Anderson is $249.13 shipping included! Can't believe it.

I bought rear knock off from EBay about a year ago and it’s doing just fine. I had bought the Toyota TRD bar for my previous Tundra and I can honestly say I didn’t see any differences.

Dang it, John! Why you gotta throw out great deals?! Can’t you just let us get the inferior chinese brand and potentially regret our decision later down the road? Ugh, order placed for the TRD……my wife is gonna be pissed.

For what its worth, my Amazon - Mulan rear sway bar has been on for a year now...no issues, no rust, paints still looks good and the Tundra drives great.

Yup, I couldn’t justify spending double for the real McCoy when the knock off is good quality. I certainly have no regrets.

Do the sway bars from Fred Anderson come with end links?
Their site down make it clear…

Hey @JohnWhicker I ordered and just received my rear bar, now kicking myself for not getting both like you did…only $80 for the front one is a steal. If I want it now it will cost me $30 more. Do you know if they run deals like these other times of the year or this was the only chance?

    Thanks!

If it is a Genuine TRD bar (as it should be from Fred Anderson) then yes, it comes with end links, as well as everything else needed to install it and integrate in to a factory vehicle.

Edit: I should be more clear - the REAR bar comes with end links and everything you need to install it. If you are looking at the FRONT bar from a TRD PRO, then it is only the bar. The front intends for you to reuse the original end links and bushings but because the rear sway bar wasn't a standard factory option, it comes with everything.

Received and installed my rear sway bar few days ago and it transformed my 2020 1794 TRD Offroad (asphalt princess) for the better....no more boat like on corners. Liked it so much that ordered the front one to complete the setup, even without the 25% Fred Anderson has the best deal for me @ $108.97 to my door. Dumb me hesitated to get both and the price for the mistake was $28 more....oh well.
Thanks again @JohnWhicker for the heads up.

I have had this sway bar i bought off Amazon for almost a year. Still looks new and felt a difference on the 2 lane curvy mountain roads I drive on.

I'm interested in that ebay stabilizer bar. It says no shipping to canada? Is there an Amazon one that's equivalent?

I did buy mine from the US when I was done in Florida.
This is the same bar and it’s a good deal in CDN $$.

    Aprreciate it! Will probably order.
You had no issues with install? One of the reviews said a bushing or something was wrong size.

Nope, installed the same as the OE trd sway bar. Follow the Toyota installation instruction which you can download. Remember to use a silicone based grease between the bar and rubber bushings.

I did paint mine black because I’m not a fan of a big red bar. I have not rust on mine after a years use.

Been watching this one for a while:

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/3554376459...CsYBUwiRlW&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

It's for lifted applications, 4.5"+. I'm wondering if the difference would be in the bar or the links compared to the stock height one. Reason I ask is because I have the trd rear links but no bar. If the bars are the same dimensions but just different length links for example, it would work for me. At a fraction of the price.

I’m almost positive it’s the links that need to be longer and the bar is the same. Only problem is that it’s out of stock.

I feel the same. Yea I noticed that too. And I don't think it ships to Canada either, so I gave up on that one. I was also watching the cheapest one on ebay that ships to Canada. Turns out it's the same one I had saved on Amazon, just cheaper lol. Today the ebay seller offered 7% off so I accepted and bought it
