King shocks or Fox shock or Toytec Alumas what would you choose?

which would you choose and why?

 

King/Fox > Toytec. Lots of documented failures of toytecs in general, and although their new lineup is rebadged Radflos I wouldn't run them personally.

As for King or Fox, pick a color. I have Kings on my Tundra, Foxs on the wife's 4Runner, and ADS on my buggy. They all ride amazing. From a technology perspective I think Fox is ahead, from a pure quality of product and tolerances I think ADS is the best. For something that's not a trophy truck pick whatever is the easiest/cheapest/coolest color.

 

I have Fox....all good. Can't go wrong with either.

 

Now would you choose for daily driver and only maybe go out 3 times a year to some trails.....only 2wd Bilstein 6112s and 5160 or any of the others?

 

I went to the ADS website and seem real complicated to just choose a shock

 

I picked fox because during the holidays they had the best prices i couldnt pass up.

 

so for about 2400.00 full set up for ADS............about same price to Kings

 

do you think thats overkill for doing only minor trails and only a handfull times a year?

 

only 2wd so dont think i will be doing anything crazy...........so do you guys think to go to Sedona next year the 6112 and 5160 would be good enough to do the trails there? dont want to spend to much money if i dont need to ..........lol ...........dont have alot of money to begin with

 

thos are hard to find are they not?

 

Fox or King in my opinion but I run all Fox...I dont know much about ADS or Toytec but doenst mean they're not good for what you have planned for your truck.

You won’t be disappointed with the 6112/5160.

 

Seen them last night still in a box because I ordered them for my uncle 2 weeks ago for his 2019 and they are beasts

 

@00Tyler10 trail twerking on 5160's and Icon AAL... On a dominantly UTV trail....

 

I like the new @toytec Aluma series. It’s a bit more smooth than the boss kit, but plenty capable for occasional off-road.

I have seen plenty of toytec out and about and on vehicles I’ve worked on and nothing has been an issue. I have seen 1 set of foxes on a tundra I had in and the tears were completely blown. You have said documentation?

 

@Rica25 your in the same boat as me lol.... so many cool shocks to choose from lol first wanted icon but the more and more I think about it, it’s hard for me to get the kit I want. So that’s where I saw the 6112/5160 set up but then I’m seeing all this toytech shocks and what not

 

I'm real hesitant about the toytec not alot of people run them and bilstein has been around for a long time and one of my uncles has got them under warranty before when they go bad at no charge so warranty is great

 

Yea my truck is mostly on road, went with Bilstein 6112/5100 set on top setting with 1/2” shims up front and coachbuilder +3 shackles out back. Truck rides great and has a killer stance.

 

What shocks did you have prior

 

Had the factory shocks on the platinum, nothing special, not even Bilstein. Rode like a piece of wet bread, now it’s got some feel to it.
