If you’re signing up for the Baja 1000 in a semi pro class and have made extensive mods to your truck to make it able to handle abuse, go with 3.0 (and long travel), otherwise, same some money and get 2.5s with adjustable compression (full open on road, eight or more clicks in off road) and Deaver leaf springs for the rear.
