The boy is getting his permit soon and will be tooling around in a 2000 Tundra I bought from my brother for him….but the passenger window doesn’t work and my bro just duct taped the switch so it doesn’t get used. Anyone ever mess w this fix?

The passenger side window controls are fed from the driver side controls, IIRC. I may be wrong, but that's what's stuck in my head.

I take it you already tested the square lockout button on the driver's side controls? This has bitten others in the ass before, where they didn't realize they fat-fingered the square passenger control lockout button. Does the passenger side lock control still work?

Shifty….the passenger side door lock does work…so there is getting power to that side. My bro said it may be a loose wire. Kid drove good yesterday for his first day w his permit!!

Are you able to make window work from driver master switch ?
If you are able to pull passenger side window switch assembly, unplug connector and with IGN ON/EG OFF, see if you have 12vdc to pin 4 and body gnd. For your year 00 that wire should be blue/red !

You can also check for proper gnd at passenger sw while unplugged if you have a VOM(volt ohm meter). Pin 2(Red-Grn) to body gnd should show a short. Pin 5(Red-Black) to body gnd should show a short also.

The driver side square lockout button only disables the window controls. And it disables the window controls for all passenger windows on both the passenger driver and passenger side, IIRC.

If the passenger window doesn't work with either control board, my suspicion would be firmly seated on that square driver side lockout button. Not saying it can't be something else, but the fact that's the primary function of that little square button is always suspicious to me.

The window motor and door lock motor do not share same power source nor connector plugin.

There was another one on here recently, I can visually remember the picture of the window having a gap on one side, but can't remember who the person with the problem was.

Just go buy a new switch and put it in and see what happens.
More than likley that is the cause.
Great truck for a teenager, BTW.
