New kid here - took delivery of my truck today 08292023 and was told there would be “a bit of a wait” - guess I’ll get in line.

The metal door key is terrible - the least they could have done was add a handshake chip to the key to get you home.

I picked my truck up July 28, 2023. One FOB 2 keys. No word from Toyota or the dealership, yet.

I found it odd that my salesman asked me if I had ever lost a key FOB. When I said "no", that's when he informed me that I'd only get one FOB for now. I should have said "yes, I lose them all the time".

The air tag is a good idea.

And the metal key they give you won’t do anything except get you in the truck anyway. There’s no backup ability to start the key without a fob, at least until/if digital key is enabled.

I'm sure the kia crew will put out a youtube soon of "How to start a new Tundra without a Fob" and then none of us will need a 2nd Fob.

I just got this in my Toyota app today and I called the dealer. I bought my truck in December 2022, I will pick up my key next week.
