I also have a RR. Are you both running wireless CarPlay with an Apple device when you get the restarts? I haven't had one since the latest update to iOS.

I tried to track the conditions when it rebooted, I seemed to think it was when I was wirelessly connected to CarPlay. Haven’t had a reboot in a while.

What are the odds they reduced the bezel size on next years model? I think the dasaita unit looks much better. The pioneer looks better. Heard too many people recommended Kenwood to want a different brand. Hate to buy this one then they slim the bezels next year. It’s beyond me why they put this out with bezels the size of Texas.

Thank you for the advice on purchasing the factory SiriusXM antenna adapter. I too purchased my new radio off of Crutchfield and I don't understand why they don't mention this adapter as part of the installation gear. They do have a standalone SiriusXM antenna adapter for our trucks; ACC-SAT-TO1 for $15. I really was not looking forward to using the antenna that comes with the SiriusXM tuner.

So there are two parts to getting SiriusXM working. One is the actual tuner (SXV300) and the other is the antenna. You can use the factory antenna with the SXV300 which is what I did and it works great.

Yep, that's the SiriusXM tuner I have on order. Still surprised Crutchfield doesn't suggest it when picking options for my truck. I was able to get the shipping fee waived since my original order is already packed and ready to be shipped.

Yeah, I love Crutchfield but don't understand this either. I probably could have used this adapter when I changed the radio in 08, instead of having to run the new antenna.

So weirdly I just figured out my remote amp wire is not working but my amp has auto-detect so it has been working fine because I always have the volume turned up. I took some rides with my wife and turned the volume down to very low and the amp now turns off when I do that. I'll check the harness but I'm fairly certain it's correct and the wire is hooked up to the amp - I may just run a new wire.

Also, GPS has been horrible for me. I've tried the Kenwood antenna placed under the center speaker grill (right at the top of the cavity attached to the metal clip) as well as the stock GPS antenna and it has Waze either spinning in circles or on every adjacent road or consistently 50 yards to the right of whichever road I'm on. Anyone experiencing GPS issues?

Honestly, I haven't used my GPS that much recently. I did use it one time and didn't have any issues. I'll try it out some more soon and let you know if I have any issues. Hopefully it clears up for you.

It does, but you have to have a GPS signal to use wireless CarPlay.

That's weird. My phone sits in the wireless charger tray on top of the center armrest but it's always been there. No issues with Waze prior to new HU. I'll try putting the phone on the dash and see if it makes a difference.

Yeah, I tried to use the adapter for the stock GPS antenna and it wouldn't work. Then I installed the GPS antenna that came with the radio and was finally able to get Wireless CarPlay to work. I honestly don't know why you have to have one when it uses your phone's GPS.

Just installed this unit myself. Everything went well. I do have a few things that are not working and not sure if they should. I have a 17 1794 so it has JBL. My TPMS, Fuel and parking sensors are not working on the unit. Should they be? I have the Maestro RR with the DMX1057XR

    Thanks, Mike

I have a 2014 1794 and this is my EXACT situation with my DMX1057XR that I installed a week ago. Steering wheel controls, backup camera, just about everything I can think of works fine but my parking sensors and TPMS do not work. Brand new head unit and brand new Maestro RR that was flashed as the instructions said to do.

Yup...totally the phone. The arrow on Waze absolutely responds to which direction the phone is pointed.

If you use Apple CarPlay you can stream XM Radio wirelessly and it will sound better.

I re-flashed mine with an older firmware 3.1 I believe and I now have TPMS working. Still don't have parking sensors and Fuel gauge.

I just finished installing this head unit in my 2019 Tundra Limited Double Cab last night.

I already have an OEM Audio Plus Reference 500 system installed in the truck, but was still not satisfied with the sound quality that I was getting from the truck. I initially thought it was the reference system that was the problem (and have had it installed for probably a year or so), but over time I kept reading about how bad the Entune unit was for sound quality... I impulsively made the decision to originally purchase a Halo9 from James at Tech 12 volts, and had gone through the full order process, but he informed me that the Halo 9 was not in stock anywhere but that for a little bit more $ I could get a DMX1057XR. I did a little research on it and realized it was a no brainer to go for the DMX1057XR with the 1" bigger screen, HD screen, wireless carplay, etc.

A few things to note: When using the OEM Audio Plus system, you need to wire all 8 of the speaker wires from the amplified side of the head unit to the corresponding wires on the TO2 harness, i.e. following the idatalink "without an amplifier" wiring guide. I didn't do this originally and just plugged the two RCA connectors from the TO2 harness into the front pre-out and got no sound, and promptly had to pull the entire thing out again to fix my mistake. In order to get all of my magic gauges working, I hit a button like "Verify PID" (I forgot what it was I'll have to go look and see the exact path to get to it) under the OEM Setup menu, which then gave me all of the options for my gauges like trans temp etc.

Initial impressions of the DMX1057XR + OEM Audio Plus Reference 500 DC, this really brought the OEMAudioPlus system to life, and the massive amounts of tuning (mostly to chop the highs because they were always too loud for me) has provided me the sound quality I've been looking for. Not a cheap path/package by any means, but better than going to another brand of truck for sound...

I'm going to have to respectfully disagree on that. The signal from my antenna is way better than streaming.
