Hello fellow Tundrians, I purchased and installed A Kenwood DMX1057XR, love this stereo!
My problem is it randomly disconnects AA, a message says wifi disconnected so I have to restart AA.
I read on here (cant find it now) somewhere that peeps where having this issue and had to use the Kenwwood provided wifi antenna? I am currently using the the factory Tundra antenna.
I just want to check with others before I go tearing the truck apart again.

Turn off battery optimization for Android Auto. That's the number 1 cause of this issue.

Don't waste your time. Waze and Google Maps will be using your phones GPS, not your trucks.

EDIT, I don't know if this is accurate or not, but it wouldn't be causing wifi disconnects.

So I pulled the Stereo and switched out the antenna, then read you post! hehe. I looked on my phone and battery optimization is turned on for AA. I haven't gone on a long drive yet so hopefully this issue is resolved! thank you 19TurdPro

    I had the same problem.

Found a Reddit thread where a guy 'fixed' it by changing some of the Wifi settings in Android. I've tried it and things work well so far.

You must disable the top and bottom settings in this image (the auto wifi switching and the Hotspot)

Confirmed yesterday that the changes I showed above to the Android Wifi setting indeed fixes all the perceived instability with the DMX unit! Drove through the worst part of the city with both maps and music running, no issues whatsoever, everything was stable.

Thank you all for your help. After I had changed to the Kenwood antenna, I took it for a drive about an hour away from my house. The GPS worked great until I was about a block from my destination then it kept dropping out. When I was leaving that destination it dropped out again multiple times but as soon as I got about a block or 2 away it was fine again. That leads me to the idea that it might be a dead spot in that area? I hadn't turned off battery optimization, auto wifi switching and the Hotspot yet because I wanted to do 1 thing at a time. I now turned off these setting and am going to the same destination this weekend, will report back.
