I'm sure they are, but I'm already well into six digits with mine. If it comes with 760hp like they are saying it may be worth it.

27 F AGM...might go with 31 next time. If you get the tow package I think those alternators are 180 amp which is plenty.

I have the 27F not AMG, and am looking at the 31M X2 Battery. Not cheap, and am waiting to make sure I don't break the factory tray.....lol
My is the TSS off-road two package, so I guess my alternator should be fine. Did you have to mod to make it charge up to 14.2V?

rago fabrication makes a tray for the 31 although I have heard about folks using oem...yes I did the alt s fuse from australia to bump charging voltage...2 years now with no issue. I do put the battery on a ctek charger once in awhile to keep things up to speed.

When the raptor R comes out $100k won't even touch it; even if MSRP is $100-$110k I bet they end up getting $140+ for those things...

Keeping mine for sure. I plan to pass this one on to my kid when he gets his permit. The thing is, he actually isn’t born yet - so we got 16 years to go.

Great plan...remember when I got a new Honda Civic for my son when he was a junior in High School...He is 36 now and just got rid of it. Tried to get me to buy it from him for his younger brother... I told him... you mean the car I already bought once!? I guess he came to realize the irony in that.

I plan to keep my 2021 for many many years. I pulled the trigger on the 2021 as soon as the leaks came out on the 3rd gen and the market went crazy. Even if she is a pig I still love the truck. I'll probably buy a Camry or Corolla when my kids get closer to driving age to have a 3rd car for the family. But we also have a 2021 hybrid Sienna that gets almost 40 mpg so I look at my "fleet" average mgp as around 26-27 which I can live with.

I will keep my 21 Tundra until the end of time, if it will hold out. Selling my 2000 and 2002 Tundra’s was the biggest mistake of my life. I got into a 13 Honda Pilot and a 16 Silverado and the cylinder deactivation has been a problem on both vehicles. I will buy a horse and buggy before I buy another vehicle with cylinder deactivation.

I have this debate internally and externally frequently because I have the same feeling.

If I had, emphasis had, to get another truck:

    1) I'd be upset
    2) Look for a good condition 2.5
    3) might hold my nose and get 3rd gen
    4) 10% chance I look at something else.

Keeping mine too. I leased my 2019 at first not knowing if I would like the truck since coming from a Tacoma. Its mint condition with only has 23k miles on it. I love everything about it but the MPGs

090479B4-6C24-4215-8ECB-8F5980D335AD.jpg I dutifully drove a 2012 Corolla as a commuter for 9 years. Retired in March 21. Bought this 21 TRD Pro in December 2021 with 12,400 miles on it. Added a sway bar, steps, and stereo upgrade and I’m done. I wanted the full size truck with a V8. It makes me smile every time I start it and I hope this will be my last vehicle. I’m on pace to put about 4k miles a year on it.

Living on the east coast of Canada (Nova Scotia), keeping a vehicle forever is pretty much impossible if it’s a daily driver. I kept a 17 year old Tacoma going and it was still decent but required more and more as time went on. For me I will keep my tundra for 4 years and sell it for what I paid for it and move onto the next Toyota.

I purposely bought my 2020 TRD Sport DC for the specific reason of the reliability and V8 5.7. I knew back then that I would not be interested in the new 2022 V6 Turbo Tundra. I'm just not a fan of a V6 in a truck that i use to tow a travel trailer. I'm just old school, when I want to tow something, in my mind I need a V8. I have a habit of owning a vehicle for 5 years and then trading it in for another one. I can honestly say, this Tundra is here to stay for a very long time, at least until I retire and thats another 15 years.

I'm retiring this year. My truck history includes a 1985 Nissan, 1993 F150, a 2001 Tundra, 2005 Tundra, 2012 F150, and now a 2020 Tundra TRD Pro. I purchased the last Tundra with eyes wide open. It was between that truck and another F150. I also have an FJ Cruiser (I live in CO) which I daily drive. The FJ is why I decided on the 2020 Tundra. Since I don't drive it daily, the mpg is a secondary concern. I just need it to start, do a job or roadtrip, and go back to sleep. Barring an accident, it will be my last truck which makes me sad but such is life.

I don't think the 5.7 is as bullet proof as the older 4.7 but it is definitely more powerful. I'll never have the miles to worry about it.

I had every intention to buy a new '22. But the payoff on my 20 trd (34k) vs a new TRD (70k or more) - just doesn't make any sense financially. (and my company pays for the majority of my car and gas). The new ones sit so low to the ground and the cabs look smaller - granted they look fantastic with a lift. I've changed my mind and I'm keeping my 20. Gonna spend some money on mods to make it the way I want - but still feels like I'm getting a great truck at half the price. For the same money as buying a 22 I can pay this off, kit it out, and still have enough left over to buy a cheap commuter car to drive daily.

Same reason I bought my 2020. I had heard the rumors and grumbling that the next gen was going to incorporate turbo’s and I knew I didn’t want that. (I actually thought the 3rd gen was going to come out in 2021 so I hurried to buy the 2020.) I wanted the tried and true and the reliability of the V8. If I want more torque and hp I’ll supercharge it. I’ll have this truck forever.
