I’ve toyed with the idea of doing it myself, but I’d be nervous spending that kind of money and screw something up. The Clazzios weren’t bad to install myself, but I know these are different.

You literally can't screw it up. I didn't even have hog ring pliers.

600 sounds about right. Was that price to install the heated seats as well?

I did it all myself and the seats I got done in a day all by myself. So two guys should be able to do it no problem. I called around and found a place that would do it for 400 cash and I still did it myself to make sure it was done nicely. I'm OCD that way :(, but 600 tops! Go on the katzkin website, they should have a list of local installers and call around

Im thinking about doing it myself after the guy told me $1600 to install. Lol Do you need any of the tools like hog rings and hog rings plier?

Damn! That said...it sounds like its a time intensive install. If/when I do it, I'll self install. I watched a few videos, and it doesn't seem like it's super tough.

I just want simple black with red stitching, and maybe red wings or center perforations and heat.

Would be a good time sound proof the floor and backwall as long as seats were out.

You need hog ring pliers and about 80 hot rings, a bag of 100 was enough. You will get the hang of the pliers and just secure the leather to it, no need to crush the hog ring to oblivion. Trust me I did and it didn't look right. Cut it off and start over, no biggie. I didn't need a steamer or any special tools. I would use one of the metal rods that is in the stock seat holding it down and loop it around the sipper when you need to zip things up, worked great for leverage ;). If you have Katzkins and it doesn't look right, it's almost always the installer lol. Just work back and do it over till it looks great!

I didn't use special pliers nor did I buy hog rings. I literally reused the ones I took off from the OEM covers. No issues.

NO. I didn't get heated seats, as I reside in Florida, but will be residing in Pennsylvania...still don't need them. Cold seats are no big deal....

I paid $300 labor only in Los Angeles.. The shop did it in 2.5 hours while I waited. $300 is a doable rate.

It’s really not that bad. Just take your time and lots of pictures before you disassemble things. I don’t know how people are saying they didn’t use hog rings or reused the existing ones. Not saying it’s impossible, but for $30 you can get pliers and rings. Don’t be afraid to really push into the foam when installing the new hog rings, you really can’t hurt the foam. Also, it’s a good time to replace the driver’s seat lower foam if yours is crushed.

Simple. I started the job and didn't have either. Job was finished and looked good. Mission accomplished without special pliers or new hog rings.

I had mobile installers in Los Angeles quote $200 and they came to me. But the shop that did it ,the owner said he's been in business for 25 years and has done thousands of sets. I figured the mobile guy will just disappear after the job. At least with the shop, if I had an issue he'd be there to help.

To do the armrest and doors the shop quoted $150 more for the labor. I still have to go back to do those..just hard to find time during the week.

I want to say it was closer to 2 hours start to finish for them. They knew the process. He said a first timer could take 2 days at home. I didn't want to commit to 2 days of my time and to not be able to do it as well as them

Shop was in Carson California. I can find it's name if anyone needs them. 15 minutes from lax airport

I hate how there are no online comparisons with actual swatches and reference colors. I'm still mulling over what I want to do to refresh my truck's interior, but here are Cardinal, Red, and Salsa swatches next to a Milwaukee cordless driver.

I wish I ordered samples of some of the grays as well, cause now I'm going back and forth between Black, Cardinal, Red, Lunar Grey, Ash, Charcoal, and Light Grey.

I have a red truck, and was always planning the red trim accents DrBones has. My question is would the seats be too much red and I need to keep them black? Or is red on red ok?. My truck for reference

I think with black carpet and mostly black trim should look fine. Or could do a couple black panels on the red seats. If you love red, go for it. That leaves more black leather for the rest of us. :)

1UP, beautiful truck! I’d go black leather, maybe charcoal inserts with minimal red stitching/trim. I love red but find it overwhelming as a solid seat color. Again, gorgeous Tundra.

These are so hot. What's the pricing for this but in black and heated? Or what do you recommend for Calvary Blue?
