I put one in in July and in December I threw an OBD P0101code. MAF issue...
I haven't dropped a new filter in yet but I'm almost positive that the K&N is clogged with dust. Visually it looks clean... my truck is a 2017 and has 56,000 low wear and tear miles on it. If it is a bad sensor or some other issue I would be SHOCKED and very disappointed in toyota.
I have not cleaned it since I put it in but I've only put about 6k miles on that filter.
Anyone have any feedback to ease my mind? Thanks!

    Curse you Perry the Platypus!
I've been using them since the mid 90's and never had an issue. If it helps ease your mind, go ahead and clean the filter then re-oil it. They recommend every 40,000-60,000 miles but nothing wrong with sooner.

Just don't over oil it ! It will cause issues with the maf sensor

I had one on my blower and am fairly certain it tripped a MAF code. Over oiling it is once issue, proximity to MAF is another issue. I ended up with a larger reusable AFE dry filter instead.

Toyota makes the TRD filter which is exactly the same. Seems odd they would do that just to harm your vehicle.

I didn’t notice a difference when I installed it. Did make the intake whistle though which I promptly bought the gasket for
