The previous owner of my truck must have had a light installed here too. My lower grille insert is missing. I have a big 30" two-row rough country light bar mounted on my roof rack I would gladly trade for this set up. Mine is in the way of me being able to use my fly rod rack as is.

Great job on the truck. I didn't know you can powder coat whellw. I may see of someone can paint my wife's 4runner. Is it your local paint shop?

The rear bumper flush mount lights are Rough Country Black Series the inner-optics housing is black, rather than chrome Part # 70803BL.

They were about $70 for the kit which includes lights, harness and template (used to mark the hole you will cut). Two options on wiring, you can wire up to each tail light and use t-taps to connect the neg & pos its that simple, the rear lights come on when you select reverse. Alternately, you can run up to font of truck snd mount a switch and control them independently. The harness teach light has nice waterproof connectors, I just cut it with enough length to reach each tail light used so zip-ties nice and clean. 1440 lumens per light with a 30 degree spot which works perfect for a low but wide light pattern behind truck (I also upgraded my tail light back up bulbs with super bright LED bulbs. I like that the added light, it makes the back-up camera perform (close to) as it does in day light,

Now the part that took quite a while to get just right, you are cutting through the plastic outer-cover and inner metal bumper which is a huge PITA. No matter what combo of tools (3" cut-off wheel, autobody jig saw, Dremel, drill, hand file) I had to fine tune the opening to get the lights to sit flush, the flange on the lights doesn't leave a lot of room for error so a smaller cut with power tools then refine with a a new and or sharp heavy duty file is what I found works best.
(note: some owners will have just the metal bumper end caps that might simplify the process a bit, fine-tunning the hole is always a pain if you know what I mean)

I measured 3-4 times per hole before I cut or did anything. The kit provides (1) cardboard template. I would make a second one out of an old box before I tape and mock up the first one. Placement is personal preference however, there is a limited area where they will sit flush due to bumper curve and contour so find the "flat-spot'

Mid project, I used black rustoleum paint with a small brush and painted the hole I cut in the metal inner bumper for rust resistance
    unnamed-19.jpg

Final result, I bought black hex bolts to go with the "black series theme", ss-washers & nylock nuts for the back side, the lights look OEM in person, really smooth and rock solid.

I have had a bunch of factory and after market wheels and other parts powder-coated over the years, its cost effective and holds up really well. Look for a dedicated powder-coat shop in your area, they can coat anything metal in a hundred different colors and textures.

The plastic center caps on most Tundra OEM wheels will need to be color matched via painting. Not a big deal you can rattle can (make sure you prep- and adhesion promote really good) or have a auto body paint shop color match. On this truck I had the center caps professionally color/texture matched and painted. Went another step further and had the Toyota emblems on the caps painted Silver Sky Metallic.

Not the best pic but this is the end result.....I have "color lug" black lug nut covers, they work great. here is a link: https://www.colorlugs.com

got any pics with the new tires? Very tempted to powder coat mine as well but I am also wanting to install the fender flares and want the tires to stick out to at least be flush with the flares. I think the stock wheels offset won't allow that. But yours looks great so if I follow your path I guess no fejder flares lol. Not wanting spacers either

Looks good, is your ride lifted at all? and what trimming do you need to do so you fit the 295/55/20 ?

The offset on the factory wheels (even with large tires) will sit inboard if you add fender flares. I had the same setup on my last tundra and added 1 1/2" spacers. Looked great. In your case you don't want spacers so maybe aftermarket wheels.

Step bars are rock solid, Westin HDX series, satin black textured finish, easy one person instill. I had the nFab steps on last Tundra and loved those too, wanted to change it up on the truck.

New tires are the best, Tire dressing companies should have "New Rubber" smell rather then all the BS scents normally

I had my wheels powdercoated as well, a gloss black though. I like the look on a good off-road tire. I went with the Micheline tires this go around, but I might have to swap out.

    Nice truck,

Your new wheels look great!!!!! I recently had my TRD wheels powder coated a low gloss. I looked into the color lug nut covers because my friend had purchased them. His rims have more of a high gloss finish. My fear is the lug nut covers and going to have to high of a finish. Are you happy with yours? I wish they came in a more flat black color. I'm very happy how my rims turned out. Tempted to keep them chrome to match the rest of the chrome on my TOY.
