Welcome from TX. Liked how you threw in BMW, I still have mine before they went to the drive by wire. Mine still has hydraulic steering on my beemer. My daily commute car. Truck is for the weekends when I go on adventures (soon).

My story is this... I bought a 2015 ford f150 2.7 ecoboost. I bought a base model crew cab. I served me well except for defroster issues, a heater problem, uncomfrtable front seats and strange codes about parking brake when parked on an incline. Mpg was way overrated as computer said 19.5 to 21.5 but realtime was 17.5 with hand count. I am in my truck quite a bit and wanted a nicer truck. I shopped around hard, man that 2019 ram 1500 is over the top interior wise, f150 was out of budget for higher trims, and the silverado 2018 is a deal but man talk about cheap ass fit and finish. So I am now a tundra owner. Its a dinosaur. But I like its simplicity, kind of reminds me of bmws of old inside, sparse just enough luxury ( yes I got the leather- treated myself as I am almost 50 and never had leather before). I just do not trust cylinder deactivation, those chevy bail outs now layoffs, the rams reliability (maybe after the tundra in my old age I will need it and ram will have worked out the kinks, and finally I like where ford is going but its out of my budget. The final push toward toyota came from an old trusted mechanic, he loves toyota. I am in. Who knows my son is 13, when toyota is couple of years into gen 4 and he graduates...

Welcome aboard the Tundra train. I have a 25 year old Bronco that I still drive around town. I really liked the look of the F150 and planned on buying one until I read about all of the problems people were having with them so I decided to go with the Tundra. So far I'm very happy with it and I like the relative simplicity of the Tundra although I have to admit that those aftermarket Android head units look pretty sweet and I'm seriously considering putting on in the truck.

So Toyota gives free maintenance for the first 24,000 miles. They recommend you come in every 5000 for tire rotation and to check all. Every 10000 for an oil change. That sounds like a long time for oil especially for the first oil change. Any thoughts ?

I took mine in every 5,000 and asked for oil change and tire rotation. Apparently 10,000 is okay for synthetic, but I prefer to do it every 5,000, and the dealer never told me that they could not or would not. I am about to get my 25,000 oil change (5th free one) done soon.
