I meant just in general, i wouldn't run the dash speakers off the head unit.

Check the ground on your head unit. I have no hiss on mine.

 

ground is connected to the maestro ground (black wire) connections is good, I am not sure what the issue is.

 

Make sure on the head unit EQ everything is set to 0 (no gain adjustments).

After that, you are just going to have to pull the head unit and start eliminating things.
I'm wondering if its having to do with running speaker outputs and rca outputs at the same time.

 

Also, list all the parts in your setup.

 

Kenwood 1037S with the Maestro RR. I do have door hertz door speakers all around and a JBL RD900 amp but I have elimanated those by disconnecting the amp. The problem has something to do with the head unit or Maestro (which I programmed again to verify). I double checked the wiring harness and everything is connected properly on the head unit to the Maestro harness. I am still getting static from the dash speakers.

 

Why are you using the black ground wire from the RR as a ground for your stereo? Run a separate ground wire. Also make sure you're not running a ground loop.

 

That's what the instructions say to do on the Maestro website. The black wire is the ground for the factory head unit so why would it not be sufficient for an aftermarket?

 

Because it might produce distortion or interference to your audio signal.

 

Why not ground it somewhere else? Your whole truck is made out of metal.

 

Just tested that theory by running a wire directly to the negative on the battery to the head unit. No change.

 

Dont do that, you're creating a grounding loop.

 

Not exactly on the terminal but the side of the truck where the battery is grounded is where I put it.

 

And this static is the same across all inputs on your head unit.

Yes all inputs. Apparently this is a known issue with the 1037S as I asked another person who has it and he said the same thing.

I never understood why people would buy the 1037 when the 1057XR has the same price and has Audiophile grade components and a 2 year warranty.

 

You got a killer deal on that 1057. Msrp to msrp i didn't think it was worth the extra money for an extra volt of preout, and built in navi when i was going to use andriod auto 100% of the time.....ymmv

I have the JL Audio RD 900/5 amp. I am still learning the logic of ohms and RMS. I am torn between getting two JL Audio TW1-2 10" or TW1-4 10" subs but I am not sure which ones will work best with the amp. Any help?

Sounds like several people have the 1037 head unit. Anyone have an iPhone and is able to screen mirror? I ran the hdmi but it still won’t mirror.

Yeah, so the 1057 was a screw up on kenwoods part since they were the same price as the 1037. The 1057 is out of stock everywhere and from what I heard they arent going to be making any more.
