Turn off ATMOS - WAY too much DSP happening before the DSP which is going to happen via Apple Music sending the JBL system via Bluetooth (which degrades the audio even more).

All streaming services are compressing audio.

Personal opinion - Apple music is junk. Lossless, HIFI, HQ, ATMOS... Doesn't matter. Spotify is slightly better, and Tidal HIFI mo better. BUT.. send any of these sources thru Bluetooth, and we all end up with :poking:

Best option for Audio quality: Load a jump drive with some FLAC or WAV files that are encoded in 48k/24bit or higher (the stock system will support 192k/24bit!)

No matter the source so far, I find it too bass-heavy, with limited ability to really dial it in. Overall tho, it's not bad especially if you give it some quality audio via USB.

Thank you. Calling myself an audio amatuer is still giving myself too much credit. Are you stating to turn off ATMOS in the iPhone or Tundra interface (if even an option)?

Does the new system recognize FLAC?

I think I have read that it does. Manual lists supported types

Cool thanks I missed that. Sounds like a good opportunity to move over my thumb drive to flac. also curious if the file number limitation has been fixed from gen 2.5.

Yes FLAC, WAV, OGG, ALAC, MP3. It's in the multimedia manual somewhere in the back. My jump drive full of FLAC works great.

I've got an Andriod and I turn OFF ATMOS in the audio device settings. Can't say it'll be the same for iPhone. May have to disable it via Apple Music.

There's a thread on here somewhere where the author lists the supported files and size limits.

I know the limit was low maybe 32gb? But there was a workaround by partitioning the drive or something like that. Do some searching and you might find it

I'm on a thread about that. For 2.5gen it's a file count limit - 9999. I figured that one out the hard way.
