JBL door speaker internal amp?

Hey all!

Calling out for anyone who has replaced their factory JBL speakers with 6.5" door speakers?

I have a 05 DC with the JBL system. I was getting ready to install my new 6.5" today and I was told that the factory JBL's with tweeter have an internal amp. Was also told that if I am wiring in 6.5" door speakers it is going to sound horrible because of that built in amp.

I was just going to eliminate the lower tweeter and install a 6.5" door speaker instead of the JBL 8"

Has anyone had issues with this?
