Yes the reflash changes everything includes transmission shift patterns. I noticed that harder quicker shifting as well. But I would not of thought they removed the governer? That's cool though!

Finally got around to installing the 40" single row LED bar I used to have in my first gen. Not a hard install, but pulling the bumper covers off and mocking things up was kind of a pain in the ass.
Ended up making a little riser block out of 1" square tube to better position the bar. Came out pretty clean.
It's wired up with a relay tied to the high beams. When the I click over the high beams, LED bar comes on too.

Dude you can stuff a 40 in the first gen easy. It's even cleaner than on the second gen.

Yeah I know u did man, andbit does look clean as hell. But I have a license plate dead center... Nevada doesnt require front plates, id guess? that's why i was thinking 2 bars...
that's down the road tho. A few other things to get done first

Not really. Replaced the interior lights with LED, but that's it.
It got it's first drive in the snow this morning. So that was mildly exciting.

Brakes aren't nearly as touchy as they are in the Tacoma are they? We haven't had snow yet.

Did you go with 600 or 700 pound spring on the Kings coilovers?

    600. 700 is way overkill unless you have a plate bumper and a winch.

I need to get that done too, but I think I'm doing the sway bars first.

I'm really wanting that sway bar also. You think it will handle that much better to justify it?

Everyone knows I'm pretty transparent. If I spend money on a mod (that's a "modification," not an OTPHJ from a Tundras.com "moderator"), then I have no problems stating its awesome or it sucks. The rear TRD sway bar is worth its weight in gold if you do any amount of towing or spirited paved road driving. If you have the slightest complaint about body roll, the rear TRD sway bar is the bees knees. The front sequoia sway bar...noticeable difference to me, but not nearly as much as the rear.
Its difficult to rank all the modifications, but for a tow pig/street rig, sway bars should be top priority (IMO).
The rear under seat storage is also huge. My tow strap and jumper cables are finally not flopping around behind the back seats. But I drive like an asshole..in part because I can due to the sway bars. Its a domino effect. Or what I call "FOTFUSE."
Fix One Thing Fuck Up Something Else. Never ending viscous cycle of mods.

But as with anything, completely subjective. My needs are not the same as others, so take it as a grain of salt.

This is my new favorite thread @jberry813  Soon I will have a tow pig of my own :spy: Looks like the 35/12.50r18 is a nice proportionate size for the 3" lift too
