I just got some new Pro rims and had them mounted yesterday. They look great, but wow do they clash with the rest of the truck. I didn't mind the chrome too much before with the stock TRD Off-Road rims, but these new Pro rims look terrible with the chrome (or maybe I should say the chrome looks terrible with the rims), in my opinion.

Now, of course, I'm gonna have to go and color-match everything! I got some super white end caps basically for free that I can paint, but now I have to shell out for door handles, mirror caps, grille/bulge, and black emblems. Not to mention I need some more aggressive tires. It begins...

The 5.7 and the Tundra badges looks really out of place being there. I'd move the 5.7 bade to the fender and remove the Tundra emblem overall. You can color match the door handles it'll look better too

The amount of chrome Tundra parts removed by this forum could fill a warehouse. For the most part its hard to even give the parts aways.

I have a pile of it in boxes in storage. Keep the pics coming as you swap out

Same thing happened to me when I put the 17 pro rims on... I actually second guessed my decision for a few days. Once its color matched/ black it looks even better than it did stock. Just my opinion.
Also, just an FYI I have a set of overlays for the limited that I’m selling for cheap if you want to go that route... They have been clear coated with 2K clear though so they are more of a gloss than flat black. Matched the 17 Pro wheels really well.

Those Pro wheels and tires would be gone.

I attempted the same thing with my truck and black wheels. I didn’t even take a picture. I went back factory wheels again.

Depending on how good a deal he got, he could easily sell them and get his money back or maybe even make a few bucks. Those things are selling like crazy right now.

    Exactly.

Changing all that chrome is spendy. I don’t mind chrome if it’s tasteful.

When I first bought my limited I loved the chrome and couldn’t understand why everybody was taking it off of their trucks.

I think it was the same for me and it might have been the black wheels that turned the tide. Suddenly all the chrome looked really out of place!

We’re lucky to have vendors that sell all these parts pre-painted.

Alright, I need to stop reading this. Now you all are making me have second thoughts! When I walk into the garage and see just the rear of my truck sticking out past my wife's car, it looks amazing with just the black and cement, but when I see the rest of it with all the chrome it looks like a 13-year-old girl tried to put on her own makeup... I really like the wheels and either need to bite the bullet and de-chrome, or go back to the stock rims.

Did you just decide you didn't like the wheels, or you didn't want to bother with changing everything else to make it look right?

I'm really considering that. I'm also torn between color-matching the door handles vs getting black ones. It's about $70 more for painted handles, plus I'd have to pay to have them painted since Toyota doesn't sell them in cement. However, I'm already gonna have to get the end caps painted so I figured it won't be too much more to just have them do the door handles at the same time.

That's the plan. Our body/paint guy is a family friend and has done a lot of work on my dad's muscle cars, so he'd probably give me a deal on labor also.

I did see that. I wouldn't have to get the handles painted myself if I went that route, but it's basically like I'd be paying $160ish just to paint the door handles. Cool Springs sells the painted mirror caps for $81, and I'd be getting the end caps and likely a grille surround painted anyway, so I might as well order black painted handles and have them painted cement at the same time.
