Wow Jim! Very hot indeed. Thankful for air conditioning, I’m sure.

Today we had a reprieve because it’s been monsooning all day. Roads flooded, can’t even see out of the windshield. But it’s cooler! Lol

DFW area got a temporary break from the heat. Triple digits will be back this weekend. Just another Texas summer. I'm tempted to get back in the HVAC field and make some money....

Heat index was 107 yesterday. Today it was 98, which, to me, felt no damn different.

I see we have Arizona's temps covered. I'm actually glad I'm here and not wherever somebody posted 100F and 54% humidity - the 7% humidity we had today works for me. Speaking of "it's a dry heat", back in one of the earlier immigration debates somebody suggested a motto for Arizona: "It's a dry hate".

BUT the real reason for my post: My car-before-last was a 2001 Saturn, and had essentially zero technology. My last car was a 2013, and I kinda got hooked on some silly doodads. Now with my Tundra I'm back to 2003-era tech. All you people posting pics of your in-car temperature readings reminded me to ask: what kind of solutions are there for an after-market thermometer for my truck?

In my Saturn I had a Radio Shack residential thing zip-tied to the passenger-side sun visor, with a probe running out to the front bumper. Sucked. Would like a more purpose-built automotive solution.

This rear view mirror seems to be the best option I've found so far, since it also solves my "I can't see through my camper shell in the rear view mirror" problem.

Is anyone else out there a data nerd that just needs to know what the outside temp is and has an aftermarket solution? And on the related note, any thoughts about an aftermarket backup camera - potentially wired to be always-on (with the regular lights) (rather than hooked to the backup lights circuit)?

Dunno about the temp probe, but the last time I was in Phoenix, it was 113F, dry heat. A couple of days ago it was 98F here, heat index 106F. Wans't much difference.

All I gotta say after living out west and down south. That dry heat may kill you, but down south where it's humid and the heat index hits 115 degrees or higher and your sweat doesn't evaporate, but just runs down into your shoes, you will die a lot quicker and more miserably.
