All kidding aside,....I have pretty bad tinnitus and it's probably too late to start caring, but I actually try to preserve what I have left. I rarely turn the volume up. Once in a blue moon a tune will come on that I wanna turn up. But, I tend to listen to a morning FM talk show on the way to work and listen to an AM talk show on the way home. Not something you exactly rock out to. Also, I want to be able to hear sirens and horns.
I've driven my share of old school junk. Modern vehicles are so quiet that you really don't need the radio very loud to hear it well.
That said, the rear door speakers in my SR are pretty crappy. Those definitely need an upgrade. Even if it's just for an occasional tune. I'd probably listen to more music in the truck, but they don't come with cassette players anymore.

Was going to say this. My wrx, sti, and wife’s outback all have the “intuitive” layout.

    Subaru uses Toyota's Finance team.
Toyota should borrow a few Subaru engineers.

Certainly has! Park with the doors open, rear window down and crank it up all time while working, tailgating, fishing, etc. Hard to beat chilling in my hammock with some loud and clear tunes while I just forget about the rest of the world. Bluetooth connection and rock on! Love it!! Just can't feel good about it when rolling. That's when I focus on the vehicle, the traffic, and the guage cluster.

Hey to each their own! I use mine every time I'm in it but I can't understand the people that drive with it so loud that I can hear theirs over mine with both sets of windows up.

Yeah I know but wasn't sure of percentage.
We are fans of both brands. We have always had a Subaru last 25 years.
Wife has an Outback, Son until recently had an STI Sport Tech.
Am also a fan of Air Cooled Porsches. Have one. Talk about different controls.
Key is on left side of steering wheel.
Done that way so during a race your left hand starts car and your right hand puts it in gear.
You don't lose time. hah hah

Yep your right. It is bothering you way more than it should. After a while you just get used to it and go on.
But maybe you have no issues in your life and this is what you have to fuss about. If that’s true your in a good place. I’m jealous.
My fingers just work the controls on auto pilot now and I don’t ever give a second thought.

MESO Customs just showed a story of his new project making this mod available, but I'm not sure if it was on a Tacoma or Tundra

I thought it was odd too. This is the same crap as my company Freighliner Cascadia. The the power window switches are opposite of every other vehicle I have ever driven. I can see some engineer sitting in front of brass saying “let’s change something that everyone else has been doing for decades just to be different”.

3 years later and I still look at this keypad briefly ever time I need to adjust volume or switch a track.

I guess it’s true. Some say these trucks have gotten so expensive the only people who can afford them are those who are old enough to have reduced motor skill function, memory loss and extreme ocd.
That’s me, but not with this button.
