Considering buying a 2008 Tundra SR5 4x4 with the 5.8. Has 135K miles. What problems should I look for? What does it cost for a full inspection by a shop before buying?

PPI are usually around the $100 range

08 with 135k. Expect to overhaul all the maintenance items, or use it to your bargaining favor. The 2 big items were mentioned above.

I picked up my 08 with 108k on the clock. Spent the 1st month rehabbing it before tasteful mods. Only problems I had were leaky rear struts, cut reverse bulb, double stacked oil plug gasket, squeaky belt tensioner.

Look for perforations on truck frame and the bed. Especially the cross support members attached to bottom side of the bed. Be aware that the support bed members are very difficult to view, even if the truck is on a lift. If these members are severely corroded you’ll see rust coming up through the bed. Remove plastic bed liner if equipped. If equipped with Line-x or equivalent, inspect thoroughly!9D42B906-C111-4E98-982F-937AC60B2E16.jpg
