Issues getting right fit "short" antenna for 17 Tundra?

    LED interior/ground lights, 3" Leveling Kit, 20" Fuel Rims, 33/12.5/20 Nitto Ridge Grapplers, Hard Tri fold Tonneau Cover, Rhino Linings Spray-in Bed Liner, 8" SS BAMuffler
    I've ordered 2 different "short" antennas. Both of them did not have long enough thread to screw down into the antenna base through the rubber housing. Both claimed they were compatible with 2017 Tundras. The 2nd one was even from Ronin Factory (bullet antenna). The threaded bolt is not long enough. Anyone else have this issue with ordering "short" antennas that claim to be compatible with 2017 Tundras?

    forgot to add, i went with a 3" or 4" antenna and the reception was dam horrible even in town less than 5 miles from the tower. it looked great but that was about it.

    I keep hearing reception is horrible with any short antenna. Anyone have experience with a short antenna that does get good reception? I live in the East Tennessee area, lots of hilly/mountainous terrain. I need something that picks up pretty good. Are the copper with rubber coating any better?

    Antenna reception is not Rocket Surgery.

    The more metal the better the reception.

    not always the case. most FM antenna are quarter length of the wave length and they base it on the 100mhz spot on the FM dial since its about mid point in the full FM band.

    which is why most old time antenna are around 31-32 in in length.

    Give this one a try. Put this on my 18 CM. No issues with reception, live in Houston but have been in secluded areas with no problems.

    I use the original stubby from Craven Speed. Works great and I've had one on a Wrangler, CR-V, Sienna, Tacoma and the Tundra.
