Well, I was in a parking garage in VA. It was small, I had to park in a compact car spot so it was even more awkward trying to turn. I had to do quite a bit of corrections in order to get the truck in a position where I could turn. Does anyone have any tips on getting used to parking in this thing? I came from a Tacoma.

You just have to oversteer it in parking turns. Use those forearms and twist the steering wheel quick and hard to pivot into space. The power steering boost is not enough so park it like a manual steering truck from the 70s.

    Lol what?
So when I'm turning all the way left, I have to push the steering wheel harder as power steering isn't turning the wheel all the way?

I think what he’s trying to say is you need to max out the steering wheel when you are making a turn. Commit to it. Don’t gradually turn the steering wheel as you creep forward. Max it out and then start moving.

OK I see. I'll try that next time. I park at downtown garage daily near my office and just finally got used to getting through the roundabout in the garage after 5 months owning a Tundra.

coming from 07, 14, 16 and 19 tundra's the new truck still (almost a year later) sucks to park and maneuver. Im so glad I did not get the 6.5ft bed, as badly as I wanted it

Lol I feel like we could have bought 3/4 ton pickup and would have same or better turning and maneuverability

My only other desired option other than the Tundra would be the new F150 XLT. The difference on paper doesn’t seem to be much at all, but I wonder what it translates to in real life situations. I’ve already had to make a “too many” point turn in the simplest parking situations.

After 3 months parking it is getting marginally better. It's still a beast and like anything I think with a year or two of driving it, will be a non-issue. I wouldn't want to have the crewmax 6.5' bed if I lived on the east or west coasts though.

thanks for the input. I can’t imagine what it would be with CM and 6.5ft! I have a DC w/ 6.5ft bed and I’m concerned I will probably never get used to it.
