I know jimmy has seen the dash indicator of "trans fluid too hot" occasionally.

I don't think I've seen mine climb over the 205 mark....

I haven't gotten that yet. It's crazy, because I thought I heard that happens at like 300* or something around that. There's no way that can be good.

yea could be just higher labor costs per state and pricing changes over the years.
Back then the labor alone was only $950 but it included the new gear oil. the rest was just cost of the gears, REM polished supposedly.

I am very glad I re-geared back in 2020, was about $2600 in total for gears, Auburn LSD, and labor. I had ordered the parts during a black-Friday sale in 2019, so pre-covid pricing. I know the gears have doubled in price since I bought them, and the LSD can gone up in cost.
The Nitro gear kit is $1500 now, from what I see. $2000 for labor and fluid seams high to me.

Don't wait too long. Zuk found a spider gear(?) pin/shaft starting to walk in my rear end when tearing it apart, I have photos somewhere of it specifically. Some minor ring gear contact, but well outside of the contact patch, so we just reinstalled. This was at 160K or so and I only occasionally run the truck hard. Still going strong 15K later.

if they are certified through Yukon or Nitro that’s probably legit. Installing this setup is no walk in the park it’s a lot of work. I would try and find out more about how long they been installing gears for and who they are certified through. The shop that did my setup has been doing gears for over 20+ years certified through Yukon and most of the vehicles they work on are Jeeps and custom fabrication (rock crawlers).

@BiggHertz definitely runs his truck hard. Unfortunately for him, his JB Weld rear shock mounts most likely failed shortly thereafter

Just keep in mind cost. E lockers are roughly 1500 a piece. Don’t forget switch panel if wanted.

5.29s front and rear locked with Eatons. Paid 7k and was told I’m crazy. Someone above paid 6k with an arb, and I know someone else who was at 6k with just a rear e locker.

While true, it’s equivalent to about a half tire rotation. These are tundras. Arbs do lock much faster.

arbs also suffer from air leaks.

Mine openly prefers arb put also enjoys arb rebuilds.

for my truck and direction, e locker was the way to go.

once I’m done with my truck, I’ll build a wrangler again and and go with arb their.

Premier West did mine about a tear ago. no issues took about 1/2 day. Btw I did opt for the REM. No break-in needed drove home about 80 miles 2.5 hours right after the install
