The V35 may be overstressed but that doesn’t mean that all turbo half ton motors are.

the V35 doesn’t make any more torque than any of the smaller diesels or other GTDI truck engines and no one else’s were/are commonly blowing up at <30k

I don’t think so. The TRD Performance pkg announced in Oct was going to be avail as a bolt on to new and existing motors. Just guessing this is probably shelved for now. - https://pressroom.toyota.com/toyota...rformance-package-power-up-option-for-tundra/
