I know its a silly question, but I seriously don't know. I'm looking to replace the tires because when I bought it, someone put oversize tires on it and they rub on the front suspension. The current tire size is LT285/75/R16. I plan on going back with the standard 265/70R16

While I was looking underneath, I noticed the rear springs have a 4/1 setup rather than the 3/1 that I thought was stock. This is a 4x4 TRD, so I don't know if that makes any difference or not. I have a couple of pictures to see if you can help me decide whether this is a stock configuration or someone has lifted it.

Front definitely has some interesting lift spacers in there. TRD coils. Upper ball joint looks a little suspect. Rear suspension appears factory ( edit - does appear to have an extra leaf installed).
FYI, someone stole your spare tire.

I'm pretty certain the trucks with the TRD package had 1 more leaf than the others. So I don't think someone added a single leaf.

So, I take it that those spacers on the front coil are not stock?

And yes, the spare is gone. I bought it like that. Haven't had a chance to raid the junk yards for a replacement yet..

Where you located? I have a never used 2016 spare tire sitting in the backyard that I keep forgetting to throw away.

This is the 1st gen section. We have 6 lugs, not 5. So that 2016 won't work.

Is this true? My 2000 TRD has 3 leafs + an overload for a total of 4.

Do you have a closer picture of the rear leafs? Try to get one right by where it sits on the axle. You could have 4 leafs or an add a leaf.

Also, what are your measurements from hub to fender on each wheel?

measure from center of hub/center cap to bottom of fender. for ex gen2 stock size is 22" front and 24" rear. So if I measured and get 25" front and back then lifted at 3/1.

I thought it was. It's been discussed here in the past that the TRD offroad package got you Bilstein shocks and one more leaf.
    @speedtre am I imagining this?

Yeah, not good then. That means the entire suspension will have to be reworked. My lift won't be here until mid/late January and I don't have any heat in my shop yet. Will have to get a quote from the local auto repair shop to fix these blunders before I put new shoes on her. OR, I wait till Spring and deal with it then....

    Merry Christmas to me!

Is it giving you issues right now? If not, go ahead on the new tires and get new suspension when you're ready.

No immediate issues at the moment. But as you know when you get new tires, it is always good to get an alignment. I am sure that when they do an alignment, since the truck has 240K miles on it, there will be some front suspension needs before they can put it within spec. I already know the 2 front differential half shafts will need to be replaced as the boots are torn. This whole thing could literally snowball with repair/replacement parts/costs.

Got to weigh the cost vs benefit issue....

Makes sense. You can always take it in to wherever you are going to get the alignment and ask them to do a little precheck and see if they think they'll be able to get it aligned as is.

Looks like some kinda tripple isolator on the front spring, super wacky, but not cracked or crooked. looks like about 3/4 inch front lift just from the extra cushions.

I don't know what it is. Never seen it before. Personally, and this is just me, but I wish I would have bought this truck without someone making these types of modifications. Now, I have to undo these things in order to bring it back into a correct suspension setup.

Save yourself $800+ if you were considering buying new OEM front driveshaft assemblies and instead just buy new OEM boot kits. It seems pretty simple to remove the front driveshafts if you have the tools and time.

You make a great point. I see many a mangle job on our trucks passing through the pages here mostly associated with poor suspension work. They are either in the process of mangling their pristine GranPa Truck or unmangling it like you are going through.
