I agree on the wasteful spending that the government did,1000%. But, people were switching vehicles and houses just to keep appearances up. In a perfect world, people would fight back with their wallets and not purchase anything they didn't need. Then, they would have no choice but to come down to reality. But like I said, that's in a perfect world. I am no one to tell people how and where to spend their money but buying just because is what keeps us in the same situation. If I am selling a product and people keep buying, why would I adjust my price if I am making billions. Now, stop buy my product and I need to adjust my price to only make millions. Inflation, how I see it, is corporate greed. Rich people only know one thing, money. They dont care how or where it's coming from, so long as they make more and more. I can guarantee you 1000% percent this would stop if people fought back with their wallets. Any one would prefer to make $1 than $0.

Just like we have come full circle since The Boston Tea party. Now we are taxed to death and no one bats an eye over it. Instead people are worried about what cell phone is coming out or what's coming new to the 3rd gen refresh. Which I can guarantee you people will switch their 1st years 3rd gen for a refreshed 3rd gen just because. Again, we are to blame for this. As for who we vote into office, that's another rabbit hole. I thing both parties are corrupt and contribute to everything happening today.

I'm not as rich and manly to drive care free with a family in a 3rd gen as some dudes here. I'm a poor in a 21 pro who drove 150 miles today into the country with zero worries of a blown engine.

I don't have a 14in screen or a bitchin v6 turbo but I cruised along past several 3rd gens and wondered, will that ones engine blow? Lol

I know I didn’t originally specify, but I’m looking for white. I’m on the coast and the sun does a number on the clear coat of mostly every other car color but white, and I’ve always liked the look of white cars. Easier to blend paint for repairs as well, and hides a lot. I owned one black car and I’ll never do that again. Hate to sound picky but if I’m spending this much for something I plan to keep 10+ years, I want to at least not make compromises.

it is what it is. Historically speaking we’ve been down these roads before, and obviously one day it may just be the last time. Not to get too political, but there’s always the mistake of thinking politicians on either side are truly going to look out for our best interests.

Evidence all through this thread shows you're pretty wise overall. Stick to what you want and hold all sellers near the fire, one will eventually cave. Good luck!

:threadjacked: I was just thinking about going through salvage in about another 10 years looking for 2.5 gen parts and only finding piles of 3rd gens all around with nearly zero parts removed.

I'm surprised no one has used that as a bonus of owning the 3rd gen "we'll have more salvage parts to choose from!" :p:rofl:

Just stay patient OP. You know what you want, and you'll find it for the right price. Don't compromise. Sellers are losing any leverage they thought they had, and good deals on good trucks will be out there.

I actually did have a response like that. Said his resale value will be good because extra engines will be everywhere. Nothing about the price or the mileage warranties though.:notsure:

Carmax sells white ones as well. Usually cheaper. I get lighter clolrs as well. The cement grey is working out not too hot. I got a 21 and previous owner ceramic coated it. I will always do that from now on. I plan to keep my 21 a long time. My dad also likes the higher trim but I dont care and like the SR5. In 5-10 years Ill prob get an EV and keep the tundra. That is if someone doesnt total it running red light or rear end. Keep looking. I wantrd the Sport. I found mine on one of the car sites and called them for OTD price. Get them to email the OTD price before driving there. You are also at risk of beater car needing repairs. I was in same situation. Thankfuly found one that im really happy with. Mine had 11k miles. Just a rwd dc but its paid for. I dont have a lot of sympathy for people whining about cost when they gotta have heated leather seats and such, and 4+4 is life or death when their wife drives kids in 2wd. Ha if someone was seeking financial advice the last person they wanna ask is someone driving higher trim 4+4 truck.

OP, personally I would avoid the higher trim models and maybe even 4x4 if you won't really use it. All of that extra fluff comes at a cost up front, plus in maintenance and repairs. Even worse if you can't DIY.

Good, just put it out of your mind, it probably won't happen to you ever anyway. You got airbags and seat belts, that's basically a 100% you'll survive 100% of situations.

I've found it to be about the same price as local dealerships, give or take some. No hassle, though. Their rates are high, but you just refinance immediately.

That's not uncommon for Taco's anywhere. They are an entirety crazy, different market.

Most of the banks rates are about the same as the dealers. I have been looking at this mess for the last few weeks.

You phrased that much better than I did!

OP should look at low milage SR5 is he wants to get close to 40k. I could afford a more expensive truck but I'm not going over 40k for one with less than 20k miles. Even if I got a Limited I would put neoprene covers on the seats because I'm always doing outdoor stuff. The only reason for 4x4 on the Carolina coast would be to pull a boat up a boat ramp. That's all big $$$ though and may be driving a 15 year old Corolla in retirement.

No sir, not much of a dos equis drinker. What would you be taking my word on? Not worrying because it probably won't happen to you? Or sell your vehicle before no dealer will take it if you beg them?

Don’t worry. They caught up to and passed you while you were at the gas station fueling up for the second time.

That first Platinum is too good to be true. People don't just sell these trucks for $20k under their going value
