Yup. That was the first thing I noticed when I joined this forum. I wanted to see what kinds of problems I might face in the future with my Tundra. But apparently there are none. Coming from the F150 forum, I was used to half of the posts being about problems. And angry members bitching about their trucks. And the fanboys bitching to the people bitching about their problems. If you're ever having a bad day, log onto the F150 forum. It's pretty comical.

I'd call it a pro if it had all the mechanical components that a Pro has and could care less about the stickers and cosmetics.
Also I wouldn't sell it as a pro, that would be false advertisement since it's not a factory pro.

Just my 2c but if i saw a "Custom TRD Pro" I would assume it was a customized TRD Pro, rather than an SR5 that was customized to look like a Pro? I'm pretty sure that if it came to it, a court would share that opinion too.

In the real world it comes down to the vin#. Only true ones will show their colors in the vin #. If you are looking for resale or collectors car that is all that matters. People want all original now a days. That may change in the future, but now all stock according to vin is the way to go. You can improve on a truck with even better parts than trd but resale may be less. I upgraded my truck for me and I understand I might get less for it becuase of those upgrades. To me it's about the vin#. You can replicate superbird or yenko ect. but not create it

Buy an SR5 and make it better than a PRO. Actually not too hard to do.
Or argue about more fancy interior goodies we "need" while driving to the kids soccer game. Ditto......Lame thread.............:homer: I can't understand the 10 up votes????

Dang it, I was hoping a TRD Pro grille was available for my 2nd gen SR5 07. I could dump my FM rims/Cooper STT Pro's for some Pro rims/tires. Naw, The Pro does have fancy seat stitching. Hmm....

If he's just going to stand there, tell him to take a hike. The least he can do is offer to open my next beer. There's nothing worse than a back seat mechanic.

As for badges and stickers, I'm the one making the payments, I'll add the details I like. I'll be ordering a set of Texas Edition badges at some point in the near future for mine. Why? I like the look. If you see them on my truck and call me out on it, be prepared to be ignored. I look at it this way. It (as the sticker says) was born in Texas and built by Texans, and this one's being paid for and driven by a 7th generation Texan. That makes it Texas Edition enough for me.

If I lived in Texas, I'd probably do the same thing as you. No, I would come to think of it. Texas Edition badges are cool.

Came over this messing around online today and Lol'd.

    http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/vehicledetails.xhtml?endYear=2017&zip=32404&maxPrice=30000&showcaseListingId=435696840&mmt=[TOYOTA[TUNDRA[]][]]&modelCode1=TUNDRA&sortBy=derivedpriceASC&startYear=2014&makeCode1=TOYOTA&showcaseOwnerId=69651935&firstRecord=50&maxMileage=60000&searchRadius=500&listingId=436328917&Log=0

Notice the TRD PRO stickers and not one TRD Pro item on the truck.

Really strange combination here: TRD Pro stickers, a 4x4 sticker on the tailgate that doesn't even look like it came on a Toyota vehicle (the truck is 2wd btw), 2 "Sport Edition" stickers on the tailgate that definitely didn't come on any Toyota vehicle, a bunch of random chrome everywhere EXCEPT where chrome should come on an SR5 model like its being advertised as (grille surround and bumpers), black rhino wheels, a cheap looking grille guard, and some random chrome pieces up near the front fenders/doors.

Looks like he ran through the local craigslist with a $500 spending limit and decked the truck out in anything he could find and is now trying to resell it.

The best part? The truck isn't an SR5 or a 4x4...its a 2WD SR base model. This guy is trying really hard.

I say. Don't waste your money on the Pro parts and just get a supercharger. :)

Does it really even matter what you do to your ride or what you put on it as long as you got it the way you want it and makes you happy who really cares then I got a pro grille on an SR5 makes me happy makes my ride look bad@$$ put that in your pipe and smoke it

I'd say don't waste your money on a pro period. They are nice don't get me wrong but why are they priced between a limited and a platinum/1794? Like toyota took a SR5 TRD threw some lipstick and a leveling kit and jacked the price way up!! I laugh when I see a pro, I actually feel kinda sorry for the guy actually, JMO.

I think it is best to buy the truck basically stock and then put exactly what you want on it. The factory doesn't use the best stuff anyway. Most of the optioned out off-road trucks built today are mostly cosmetically tough. Yeah, they got the Bilstein stickers on the shocks and such but they're the cheapest Bilstein shocks made. You'll have to change half that shit out anyway if you really DO want a tough truck. So, to answer your question; No, it won't be a Pro but if you do it right, it'll be better than a Pro.

Can you buy the Pro grill and install on a SR5? I want a Pro but weighing options if I get a better deal on a SR5. Problem is I really really hate all that chrome.

Its your truck so make yourself happy. If you want to convert it and call it a Pro then get er done. If people ask just tell em its a Pro. nobody is gonna check your vin # on you unless you go to Barret Jackson. YOLO

I see no issue with adding the pro goodies and topping it off with a sticker. I was a soggy civilian once and achieved the Marine title and got re-branded myself ;) But dont put on fake stickers that misrepresent what you have. My dad had a 1969 Dodge coronet. Looked like the Dodge Superbee and it was a "B" body. So he took the metal Superbee emblem and put it on his car. Then he put custom lettering in front of it that said "Wanna." Get it, get it???

I have owned many F150s amd was on the forum quite often. Say something bad about their precious F150 and it was like flies on a fresh turd.
