Yea lower internal pressure, no leaks from dings on the shaft, no worries about rust.

All sounds good but my hunch is they ride harsh offroad in higher speeds (in comparison to something like dobinsons ims).

Still probably night and day over stock, and since I don't fly don't trails at 50-60mph I doubt I need a 'race' shock.

Does anyone know definitively if the Ironman UCAs are extended travel? I cannot find any info on that and thought someone here might know.

If I read all this correctly, the front coilovers can only be set at 3.5inches?

No they are adjustable. I intend on setting mine at 2” and installing them when it warms up a bit. They are pre-set from Ironman at 3.5”.

how do you like the Ironman UCAs?

I have dobinson's shocks on the way, and deciding between SPC and Ironman.

It's an OEM balljoint, so I dont know if it has a ton of mobility, but maybe someone else knows.

I contacted Ironman about the rear spring height, and they noted that was incorrect on the website, and actually 3.5 inches of lift. How did it turn out for you?

I have heard that the ball joint is not usually the limiting factor in Dow travel but rather impact between the upper control arm and the coil spring. Apparently if the control arm is shaped differently than stock, it allows for further Tavel. Again, this is second hand information, so I am not sure.

This is true but the ball joint can be a limiting factor as well.

there is a little section in this video explaining the balljoint difference

so the Ironman leaf pack with shackles nets you 2 inches of rear lift? On the website it says 4 inches.

looks awesome. How much weight do you have in the bed to make that 3.5in rear leaf spring lift only 2 inches?

I'm not 100% sure, I don't have these yet. But my understanding is the performance leaf pack yields closer to 2" of lift in real life. And their shackle provides no lift. I think their salesman don't actually know how much about the real world applications to be honest. There is so much conflicting information.

I will likely purchase the performance leaf pack, and swap out the shackle for a 1 or 1.5" lift shackle. From what I hear the constant load leaf pack will ride a little extra rough when unloaded, and I don't need my truck to feel like a 1999 F-250. I do want more than 2" of lift, so this seems like an option that will work for me.

Yes, I bought the stage 2 constant load kit which comes with everything. Planning on added more weights to the ride, buy once cry once?

The reason why I went with this kit is the price point and my main purpose for my rig is Overlanding.

I've been driving around with the Ironman Suspension for about 2 weeks now, the rides quality is great, better than stock. Rides smooth but firm, not harsh. Once I add more weight to it. Will ride even better.

So, if you planning on running bigger tires like I am down the road to 37s, I would get the Ironman Stage 1 kit and get a more adjustable UCA like SPC, Heims ICON UCA etc. And don't forget to buy the adjustment tool cause the kit does not come with it. As of right now the adjustment tool is backordered.

I will run this UCA for now and try 37s down the road with it, if problem arise with Ironman UCA then I will get a new UCA.

I hope this answers some people questions.

I don’t think so. You mean for like 6 inch long travel lifts?

Does anyone on the forum run the pro forge yet?

No, just for medium travel. Many aftermarket UCAs allow a bit more down travel. This is often referred to as a Mid-travel setup.

It's more than 2". I spoke w a rep because the info on their website originally had 2", now I see 2.5" and 4". Rep said it should be 3.5" all around. Here's how mine looks. 20210217_171932.jpg

So far it's good. Not twitchy and very stable. The UCA made it fairly easy to align. I've got 295/70/18 and there's really just a slight rub at full crank when reversing. Very seldom though. No BMC or fender adjustment yet.

Anyone know if you can get 4” lift with these coilovers and are they extended travel?

I swear they don’t know what anything actually does, but they sell it well. Their packaging is really nice too. And their product is top notch.

Yeah I've noticed this with them. Honestly, even though I like this product, I'll probably end up going with Dobinsons. It just seems more proven and the people I talk to seem to actually understand the product.

That's probably because they're not familiar with Ironman. I just had the Stage 2 Suspension kit put on my truck and honestly I don't know how it could be any better.

Oh don't get me wrong, I think it's a great kit!! I actually wish I had jumped on it before the price increase. I'll probably just end up with Dobinson's because I can also pick it up locally which will also help with any potential issues down the line or replacement parts.

I've been back and forth on these for months lol

The one thing that is unique with the Ironman struts is their technology using a foam cell and a huge strut that holds more oil than any other strut with a reservoir. Their struts have been used for the Aussie military for years. Check out their technology on YouTube. You're only going to do this once so for the extra money I think hands down it's a better choice.
