On my Nissan frontier I had, it was a "1.75 inch estimated lift". It was morel like 3.

My rear leafs where almost flat so 3" may be closer for me.

If I was worried about hauling extra I'd go performance load and install airbags.

    Not enough....
Interesting find, thank you. Yeah I never looked at the individual listing for the leaves. I have a feeling the salesman on the live chats maybe aren't 100% versed is how everything actually works.

I would definitely rather have plenty of rake and load capacity. I'm sure the performance load are sufficient, but it's the same price for the constant load so.....I can always just remove a leaf lol

So for those that have adjusted them how did you get the bottom lock ring to loosen? I have spanner wrenches but can't get any movement at all. Feel like the bottom ring should be fairly easy. The set screws are loose.

I think they suggest releasing some load on them...jack it up and it might be more doable

Thanks, I'll try that. Not really wanting to get a spring compressor.

I installed my Ironman front coilovers and rear shocks split between yesterday and today. No leafpack just shocks and coilovers. I also have Coachbuilder +2 shackles and bushings in the rear. Currently measure .25" nose high. I kind of expected that but plan to add some weight to the front at some point. So hoping after it settles and I add a bumper it will drop about .25 inch.
I have no mechanical experience and really just learned how to change my oil and diff fluid about a month ago. It was pretty intimidating to attempt this but glad I did it myself. I learned a lot. Truck will probably fall apart driving to get the alignment lol. Pics tomorrow when there is more light.

Did you get their UCA also? I’m looking at doing a kit and leaning towards dobinsons right now but the iron mans are their competition. It’s that or just refinance the house and go full bypass etc

I did not get their UCA yet. If they can't get it aligned then I will order them. It drives and tracks great now on a short drive around the block not that it means much. Eventually I'll get them regardless.

Waiting on alignment to be completed. Driving to the shop my initial impression is it's a huge upgrade over my 5100s I had. Weird side effect is I use to have a small shimmy on initial acceleration that is now gone. Takes larger bumps at speed great and the aftershock vibration in the rear from big bumps is gone. Really drove great and no pull or vibrations prior to alignment. If I hadn't read you need one after lift I probably would have not gotten one as the truck showed no symptoms. I only got up to 50mph though.

I will update y'all with what the shop says and pics in a couple hours.

Any Tundra lean? I know the DS and PS spring rates are different I was just wondering if that was enough. My Coilovers are still sitting in the garage waiting for better weather.

Got the alignment done. Shop said no issues even on stock UCAs. Rides great. Just need bigger tires and front bumper now. Here are the pics. 20210131_120006.jpg 20210131_115953.jpg

Looks awesome. That is exactly the look I want on mine and you answered my questions about running these shocks with stock springs. What size tires are you currently running?

Which front coils are those? The performance or the constant load?

Are you sure the spring rates are different? I know the drivers side spring is a little taller but are the spring rates actually different?

Why did some of you guys, im guessing here, choose Ironman over Dobinson IMS?

Hopefully this will answer questions about my setup:

Prebuilt Front Coilovers Foam Cell Pro - Performance Load (0-110LBS)
Foam Cell Pro Rear Shocks only (no leaf pack)
    Factory UCAs
Coachbuilder +2 Shackles with poly bushings and carrier bearing drop

18x9+25 SCS SR8 in solid gunmetal
275/70r18 BFG KO2s with about 30k miles on them

    Dirty Deeds 10" Exhaust

Color matched Pro grille and endcaps
Pro LED Headlight Conversion and OEM LED black fogs

Leather steering wheel swap and all black leather shift knob

All work was done by me outside of alignment.
Current measurements from ground to center of fender after alignment and driving it about 20 miles:
    Driver Front- 40.25"
    Passenger Front- 40.26"
    Driver Rear- 40.75"
    Passenger Rear- 40.70

I haven't decided yet, but when I look at these, the Ironman shocks 'appear' to be lower maintenance and heavier duty than the Dobinson IMS. The dobinsons may ride nicer. Unfortunately no one has two tundras with each set up to compare.

Just buying front coils and struts and rear struts, when looking at these two, I also consider getting fox 2.5 fronts with 2.0 rear resi shocks. It's only a couple hundred more for a known setup. My concern is just overall maintenance, corrosion, rebuilding intervals, etc.

That's why I continue to consider the Ironman setup

I’m looking at the Ironman since the coil overs are threaded to really dial in my front height. If the Dobinson’s had that instead of the clips it would be a toss up for me.

Sorry you are correct. I think spring rates are the same but the drivers side spring is taller per Ironman’s confirmation.

What makes you feel they will need less maintenance than the Dobinsons?

    Are Dobinsins rebuidable?

    Reasoning for the 4Runner:
    -decent warranty.
-good reviews from lots of 4Runner/Tacoma users.
-They are local. Coilovers are 100% rebuildable(if anything happens).
-Just about every local dealership sells/installs both pre sale and after.
-UCA’s included as well as sway bar extended end links.
-Price point. Wife doesn’t need a 10k king, icon, etc. kit. Not that you asked compared to those.

I have no clue what I’m doing with my truck though. Prior to new job I have considered duplicate setup for the tundra, BP-51’s, or maybe even lowering it. I change my mind every other day.

Oh. Cool. When I did her 4Runner last summer I didn’t consider them. Again with that build it was down to Bp-51’s, Ironman and Icon stage 3-5. Icon got booted for 2 reasons 1 was price and 2 was availability. I fully intended on taking advantage of their Black Friday sale. But thanks to corona that screwed that up. I ended up starting her build early due to everything listed for Ironman.

Out of curiosity why would you choose dobinsons over Ironman?

The foam cell pro has me interested. Perhaps they run a lower internal pressure so then maybe less wear on the seals?
